I would think so. Double actions means kylo gets stressed a lot.
A stressed Kylo without primed thrusters can’t supernatural so loses a lot of his manauvrability.

I feel like SR Kylo is a great example of a 'good build' that only fits into bad squads.
The Hate/Optics Kylo is a route I like, I'm just not sure Kylo isn't still just overcosted whatever you do with him.

So, with your logic, if Kylo could solo any list not having an I6, you simply make him the most expensive small base pilot in the game at an I5, hope there are people dumb enough to run a two ship list, and hope they can keep him alive long enough to maybe win games on points? That your thought on his design from the team? Asking for the peanut gallery. I just don't get it.
I was very satisfied to watch Kylo die to TIE fighters yesterday. According to math, he is overcosted. It's unlikely they will adjust point costs for wave 2 tomorrow. So it's yet another dead ship because of FFG incompetence.

I find Optics on Kylo as mistake. In almost every situation it's statistically better to take TL instead of Focus + Optics.
It's good on other ships tho (those without Force).
On the other hand I agree: Kylo is overcosted.
If SNR goes up Kylo needs to go down by at least the same amount.

Expected hits are about the same, and using focus (on either def or offense) saves on force usage.

Yea... so you're paying +4 points for being "about the same"
And If you use focus for defense, no reason to waste points on Adv.Optics either
Optics on Kylo is a trap.

Optics is BEST on force users. Getting TL-level performances from a focus and preserving your most important resource (force charges) is worth 4 points every time. It's even more worth it on ordnance builds where you really need 4/4 hits on your torps to pull weight.

I'd rather take the Lock-double force before I take a lock and save it for next round with a focus.
Now optics on Fanatical...that is the ****!

Optics on a force user is literally perma-Fanatical with no downside
Of course I've taken plenty of lock-and-force only torp shots but if you have a setup round and can go into it with a focus it really helps both your force economy and your overall action economy
I've flown a lottttt of Optics Kylo and leverage those 4 points constantly in my matches
The OP's Title is correct; Poe IS much better than Kylo....

Summarization:
Poe has +1 shield, +1 Initiative, +many better squadmates, +Even higher action flexibility, +a title available, +astromech slot, +more room for squadmates.
Meanwhile, Kylo has +1 agility, +2 force and force slot, +a silly dial, +the ability to take 2 munitions.
Poe is the better choice by a "Longshot" :P. I don't think that this reflects on the pilots in a vacuum, but on the factions as a whole.

Agreed. Sadly, I feel ffg has made the FO as much the bumbling buffoons who can not accomplish anything as the films have portrayed them.
I really enjoyed flying Kylo in 1.0 — I haven’t found a good way to fly him in 2.0

Kylo still is amazing, and if you're up to the challenge, his playstyle is still fun. Just on the whole, Resistance is a better faction. And the FO works best as an efficiency faction, as evidenced by their results in the Hyperspace Trial at Phoenix. UUU won it all, but various "cheap guns" as well as some fanatics scored very high as well (and Scorch with Trickshot was heating things up). They can accomplish stuff, but they don't have quite the 3X T70 aspect of Resistance yet. But those Silencers, especially Blackout, are going to love the new gas clouds.
I feel like FO got punitively punished for being a strong faction in 1.0, hence the reason they are overpriced across the board. Yes, Tripsilons are good but I have a feeling the Clone Wars factions will shut them down in short order. Honestly, if the next couple new ships in FO (presumably an interceptor and maybe a bomber) aren’t meta setters, I’m afraid the faction may be DOA for a good long time. I know I’m probably being an alarmist but this is FFG we’re talking about and they lost the benefit of the doubt a long time ago.
#bowtotheFirstOrder…please?
