Pre-order dilemma... how many officers to order?!

By CaptainRocket, in Star Wars: Legion

I mean... at this point I don't think I'd buy more than 1 of a trooper unit... but officers seem so useful... maybe 2 of each side?

Yep I’m going with 2 to start

I ordered 3.

1 of each as per my normal. It lets me try the unit(s) out in the game prior to purchasing more, and I can always proxy in the opposite faction's model to try out having more than 1 medic/engineer/generic officer.

I will start with one. Then try it out from there.

i will get 2 for now but i do want to be able to field up to 6 different addons (one for each corps unit) specially with the heal and repair upgrade minis. i think this will be a game changer depending on the price.

I preordered one Imperial pack. If I like it, I might pick up more, and maybe even one or two for my loaner Rebel army.

8 for each side, that way i can max out for either force

going for double officer commander?

My heart says 2 each, my wallet cries as I buy one each. I can buy more later if I really love them.

I’m in your boat. Only one each for me as well. I’m pinching pennies still to try to get the ssd.

1-2 Imperial. I'll have to see what how much the droids cost and what the new comms upgrade does before I commit to a second kit.

Same here - I'll start with one and see if I need any more.

Are they Officers who attach to units or Unamed commanders?

Can be either.

Either. It comes with a unit upgrade card to attach it to a troop slot, and a commander unit card. Plus a new set of generic command cards that anyone can use like the ones in the core set.

I'm getting 3. I'm mainly suspecting these will sell out quickly.

I would love if there were a few more model options than the same officer and the same droid all the time.

None until all my Legion models are painted. I'm developing a backlog.

Then I'll buy one of each and see how it goes. I can't see painting more than two of each so probably never more than that. Besides I don't want to max out a bunch of slots that might be better used otherwise down the road. I hate it when I buy a million models that I never wind up using.

Thinking of going 3 for rebels. Or just 2 for start.

I think I'll paint one in Hoth colors like my other guys, and another one in a black trench coat as Colonel Edi-Wan L. Drake to lead a bunch of rebels who wear brown and yellow uniforms. So that's two that I'm on the hook for right there.

Can't they join special forces squads too? Making it be 11 per side?

I hadn't see that yet, you may be right.

I hope they throw in some vehicle drivers as well.

So far, I don't think any special forces have a trooper upgrade, only a special weapon slot.

Oh that's a great point! Makes me feel better about 2 each~ 😄

I'll probably get two Imperial sets. Though I could just get 1 and use the multitude of other SW minis that exist out there as proxies just to have some variety.
