Another year, another tournament report, although this event actually happened last year on the 29th. I finally got an opportunity to fly the Resistance, and ended up facing down the 2 primary archetypes of the First Order, and a similar thing in Scum. It's a little shorter than usual, due to the event being so long ago, but hopefully you guys find it worth the read!

I rather like these quicker write-ups; nice work! Also, nice to hear some names I know and have faced before. Kyle has spanked me twice and I edged out Travis once at various tournaments in the last couple years. So again, nice work!

Just a minor point:

The more likely case is actually to get blank+focus, which is now the bane of my existence...

Also, personally I see the point of advanced optics on Lulo. But he already gets the 86% of 2+ hits due to the extra die. AdvOptics puts that at 5% for 1, 33% for 2 and whoopping 62% for 3 hits. However, the extra gain for Nien when he gets Pattern Analyzer and can increase his expected damage by 0.6 instead of 0.3 when getting focus+lock instead of just one is larger.

yeah, i agree that optics was an inferior choice to analyzer on Numb, though I would have nearly gotten the same use out of them. Nien only survived to flip around 3 times: Game 1, where Fenn promptly killed him before he could shoot, even though he was focused. Game 2, where it didn't matter really, the game was already won. Game 3, it would have let me lock the Ace, which would have been nice, but ultimately unnecessary. Meanwhile, Optics rolled 4-5 dice to hits over the night.

I realize that the above is pretty anecdotal, and fully intend to fly PA Nien next time.
