The "Official 1st Thread" since the announcement of FotB demanding a Pacific Expansion!

By Kaufschtick, in Tide of Iron

OK, here it is. We don't have to speculate or wonder anymore as to whether the next expansion is going to be Eastern Front, Pacific or some other suprise expansion.

The Eastern front is off the table now, and that just leaves the Pacific as the last major expansion for Tide of Iron! gran_risa.gif

I'm loving the announcement of Fury of the Bear, but to be quite honest with you, seeing as we're now on episode six of "The Pacific" by Hanks & Spielberg, I would have been just as ecstatic over a Pacific expansion. Well, to be really honest, I'm just happy to see an expansion of any kind at this point! aplauso.gif

I sure hope the crew behind the scenes with ToI are setting their sites on the Pacific now. I'd tell them to just watch "The Pacific" on HBO, and if that doesn't get you inspired, nothing will.

If they hurry, they could have it ready by the end of, let's say, 2011?!? Early 2012?

Cause' I'm sure they'll want to do Volume 2 of the Designer Scenario Series for the Eastern front first... right? gran_risa.gif gran_risa.gif gui%C3%B1o.gif gran_risa.gif gran_risa.gif

When the topic came up in an earlier discussion about which theater of operations FFG should release next, I voted for the Pacific. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see anything new for ToI and I'll gladly buy whatever FFG puts out. It's just that the Pacific doesn't get much love in company-level games that use miniatures (Memoir '44 being the only one I can think of at the moment). So...

Stuff my vote in the "Pacific" ballot box! I mean, with the HBO mini-series being broadcast right now it's kind of a no-brainer.

Man, I can only dream of playing a massive campaign that includes every major theater of WWII with one game system.

I guess you'll want to wait until after Italy has been done then, before continuing further east gran_risa.gif

I was thinking the same thing.....We do not have any Itallians yet.

Ah yes, those pesky Italians. How could I forget? My number one gaming partner plays them in AAM and WAS, and is always complaining that they aren't represented in ToI. At least not yet.

One more time period that I would love to see - the Battle of France (or just the entire German offensive from 1939-1940). I'm sure FFG could come up with some creative strategy cards for the French, heh-heh.

Amen to that brother!

I'm with you every step of the way on that count!aplauso.gif

Give! Barry want... or I'll Kamikaze my Big Wheel straight into the side of the FFG office building.

You've been warned.

And I WANT the Italians. North Africa is just not the same without them. happy.gif

For the Free French, we can use British or American figures, because they used the same equipment. But I would also like to see the French army of 1940 with vehicles...

I agree a Blitzkrieg expansion would be awesome, but I'd like to see the Pacific first. The early war would be extremely fun, though, with lots of light tanks running around.

One more vote for Pacific, then Italy.

I concur, Pacific is a must, it is very overlooked in board gaming. is there anyone else out there who would like to see freedom fighters from France, Poland and Scandinavia (my favorite), as well as Italian and Finnish troops?

Err, yes, especially the Italians, did I mention wanting the Italians? happy.gif

Regarding partisans, you might want to check out the three-part mini partisan campaign "Morning" in the fan scenario section.
