Can Scum please have a small ship force user?

Do you just want a ship that can take Supernatural Reflexes? Because 1) it's a pretty degenerate mechanic and 2) the best users (kylo and Luke) have both repositions in their bar and are i5, so you need more than just any old small base force user.

Black Sun Enforcer

I think that is why they selected the chassis. On that note, so does the Fang.

Why do you think the Resistance is getting a small base force user any time soon? Genuinely curious. The only possible option for that is Leia aboard this thing, and that's probably as crew.

Or this thing.

But that last one's unlikely. No shields, unarmed, pure transport. So like... Yeah. Why do you think we'll get a small base force user?

General Leia (crew) (+1 force) Force float: When your ship is destroyed, if there is another friendly ship range 1-3, you may re-equip this crew card to that ship.

Eventually maybe but at the moment Scum doesn’t need one. They already have all the tools they need to deal with every situation.

A scum pilot with assess to the Force on either of these ships would really increase its survivability. Both Vader and Luke have two natural shields as well as the force. Supernatural Reflexes isnt needed on the starviper because it can take advanced sensors for 8pts. Would perhaps be too OP on having a fang fighter pilot with the force unless they had low initiative value. Still would be awesome if scum got a new force sensitive pilot... could be a rogue Jedi who has switched sides. Unlikely? yes. Cool? hellyuss.

ANother option is to just make the shadowcaster Asajj Ventress is saddled to better :) linked turret actions and a 4pt price reductio would be neat. Unlikely? yes. Cool? hellyuss

Another time I wish Mara Jade was coming out in the Scum Z-95 pack.

Thank you. I’m amazed that it took nearly a whole page of posts before someone suggested Mara Jade. I’ve been holding out for her to come out as a scum Z-95 pilots since wave 6 of 1.0 was released. Even though they chose not to port her imperial crew version over to second edition (yet) I’m still holding out hope that we’ll eventually see her as an imperial crew card as well as a scum crew and pilot card. Plus her customized Z-95 (I forget the name) would make for a great unique Z-95 title.

I join the crowd that doesn't see the need, Scum have lots of tricks as is. In fact part of there theme is dirty tricks.

Realistically, after wave 3 (and probably even after wave 4 and 5) you are going to have 3 factions with only large base Force users (Scum, Resistance, and Separatists). You will have another 2 factions that only have 1 (maybe 2) small base ships with a Force pilot (Rebel and First Order). Then you have the Empire and Republic. The former is not likely to get any new small base Force pilots, and all but 1 is on a 2 red die ship. Finally, the Republic is pretty much going to be defined by small base Force users. And just like not every faction has access to Tech slots, or Illicit slots, not every faction should have the full array of Force using options.

jedi starfighter pilots are going to alter the landscape when it comes to small ship force users. as long as these pilots are priced to reflect their force powers things should still be balanced. Force tokens are very powerful. anyone who has flown against Luke can see how good they are.

My biggest worry is that with the release of new force upgrades eg. Guardians of the Republic expansion, Scum with its limited access to force abilities will fall behind the new factions. I'm all for giving each faction some faction specific stuff provided they remain competitive when played against one another.

Completely. With 8 unique small base force users, and 1 generic, on a ship that has the ability to choose 2 or 3 red die versus 2 or 3 green die. You are going to see them getting deployed in ways and numbers not seen before. You could possibly see 3 I5+ supernatural ships in one squad. People think Supernatural Reflexes is degenerate now, they haven't seen anything yet. On the plus side, the Delta's ship ability works against Supernatural in some respects so it may provide a disincentive to use it. And that is just the beginning, the faction is pretty much guaranteed at least 1 more entire ship dedicated to small base Force pilots, which will likely bring bring 2 or 3 new unique pilots (with a couple re-used from the Delta).

Very true.

1.0 had Power creep. 2.0 has Force creep. Not yet, but its coming.

Lets be honest. If the Jedi pilots in those Delta-7 starfighters are moderately good players are going to snap up at least 3 of them, probably 4.

At least Scum has the Shadow Caster piloted by Asajj Ventress :( . FFG will be laughing all the way to the bank.

My point is people are going to jump into the new Republic Faction and not bother looking back.

Does it count as creep if it was planned? I mean FFG probably been planning to add the Republic and Separatists since at least shortly after the decision to go to 2.0 if it wasn't a factor in the decision outright (along with the desire to add the Force and fix other issues). My best guess is they will be competitive or close. They will probably be costed at the same aggressiveness level on average as the T-70. That said I am sure they will be gobbled up anyways. I know I plan to have at least 3 in my collection (The Empire and Republic are my favorite factions).

People were going to jump to the Republic and Separatists factions no matter what since they contain completely new things and have been something segments of the fan base have wanted for awhile. Combine popular characters, using a new mechanic, on new ships, that have been desired for awhile, there is going to be a solid popularity surge. The question will be how long with it last and how will things settle down.

If things get out of hand with OP stuff slipping through FFG has the fallback plan of points balancing i guess. they want to sell the new toys so they need it to be worth getting beyond the "my fav faction" "my fav ship" feel good factor that attracts certain ppl.

Its hard sticking to one faction. Few on these forums do it (from what iv seen). Im Scum only but have considered taking up either imperials or rebels as i have plenty of the ships already from 1.0 but really it makes sense to wait a few more waves and see what the new stuff is like before i consider picking up a totally new faction. Maybe there will be some crossover ships like the HWK-290 that is both scum and another faction... that would make my decision easy ;)

no really, it's guri

Hi.

Stop trying to make all the factions have all the same things that all the other factions have and turning the game into a flavourless mush.

Cheers.

Rebels get Luke...

Imperials get Vader...

First Order get Kylo Ren...

The Resistance get Rey (Large Base)

Scum get Asajj (Large Base)

you could argue that both Resistance and Scum need a force using pilot in a small base ship and I'm almost certain Resistance will get one soon. Lets not forget the Scum faction when FFG is handing out new pilots!

Asajj isnt hyperspace legal and similar to Rey cant equip Supernatural Reflexes. Rey will be popular in hyperspace. Scum do get Fenn and an extra ship (escape craft) which is nice. They get Boba Fett too who will be popular in hyperspace and likely the most played scum pilot imo.

Can Asajj fly any other ships? Would be cool to see her in a fang fighter or starviper! We can only dream.

The Republic faction gets...the Republic faction.

Starviper with Supernatural Reflexes would be absurdly fun, and probably slightly less absurdly powerful.

Those bent barrel rolls? Dang that'd be fun. Even Boost/Focus/Blue/Barrel Roll would be sweet.

This is almost, but not quite, like Vader or Sabine Wren in a TIE Defender. I'd love it in a quickbuild for a tournament event, or in some sort of campaign box or such. I don't think I need or want it to exist in standard formats.
