Beware the "After" Support Deck

By LandoC, in Star Wars: Destiny

Has anyone seen the "After" support deck? This dangerous deck contains:

eBiggs, Maz & Rebel Pilot + Armored Reinforcements plot & Weapons Factory Alpha BF; the deck build contains one 4 cost Falcon, some mods, 2 Wingman, 2 Second Chance, maybe a couple or so more supports ... and the rest of the deck (>20) is mitigation & healing cards

The real danger lies mostly if the battlefield is won. All that is needed in the original hand is Wingman which of course goes on the Reb Pilot.Round 1 looks like this ... Play wingman. Play the Falcon (dont even need to have it in your hand) for 2 using the plot & the BF.

Since the battlefield is controlled, resolve simultaneous abilities in any order you choose, therefore:

Activate Biggs ... "after" ... activate Falcon ... "after" ... activate Reb Pilot ... "after" ... reroll the Falcon TWICE if needed ... "after" ... activate Maz ... "after" ... resolve 2 dice. (no mitigation is able to be used, not even Suppressive Fire) ... then Mitigate, mitigate, mitigate, claim ...

rince & repeat

Dirty (vandalize goes in every yellow deck now)

Am I missing anything on how to combat this brilliant garbage?

I have never seen anything like this before. Took me awhile to think how to defeat this "after." I got 2 options that I can think of.

Option 1: dismantle event, if falcon has no mods on it and if you had enough resources to get rid the falcon out of play, so that's way the opponent can't activate all characters at once. Wingman is the red character only, maz is not.

Option 2: mauler mithel and vehicles. Activate vehicle's ranged damage dice that has equal to the number of the falcon's resource cost. Then activate mauler to remove its vehicle to deal damages on falcon are equal to, and the falcon is out of play.

Iden versio is not a big help against this deck, she stops an additional actions, and this deck is all in 1 action of all this "after." You can use an events and/or upgrades to switch the battlefield to avoid it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I thought eYoda/anakin/rebel engineer with double down decks is really tough to beat because it has shadow caster plus mods and along with salvo events. I got loss in the first round because of that. He draws a lot of cards and gain too many resources. But of course that was before the long con got nerfed. So he can't do anything without long con.

You're not the only one when someone built the deck that will be shocking and quick done.

Sebulba+Sebulba always win is a good way to remove high cost vehicles.

I hadn't seen the Maz version yet before I encountered the eHan3/eBiggs version(they ran hit & runs for mitigating removal over mad). Seems to me though like you combat it like you did the old one: Hit their resources first round. If you can't, the first turn they play the falcon they're pretty short on mitigation since they blew a lot on the ship so push damage rather than ramp for a round 1 kill on a soft character. Probably Maz or Biggs, since mods can't be rerolled with rookie pilot. Wide damage effects are better vs 3 wide too, so stuff like Fear & Dead Men or Force Waves seem good.

Resource denial early, while targeting Maz will give you some wiggle room. Vandalize is a great add at this point. If you're playing yellow hero, N-1 Starfighters are a huge threat.

Personally, I use Hijack (assuming they haven't put a mod on it yet), and if i am lucky, I use Recycle (after I rolled it out and resolved it, to my opponent's dismay) to get my resources back and permanently destroy it. If you can get that combo off on turn one, and you're using Hondo Ohnaka, well then it doesn't matter who actually wins the game, you've won fortune, fame and infamy for years to come.

"The Millennium Falcon? What a coincidence! My ship is named the Centennial Peregrine. Of course, I stole it and crashed it the same day..."

- Hondo Ohnaka " Pirate's Price "

Surgical Strike is awesome for high cost removal.
Especially for Armored Reinforcement decks because they tend to run just one or 2 big vehicles (since you don't need to dig through your deck to get them).
So when you pop that... the deck kind of falls apart.

N-1 Starfighters are the other good vehicle removal. I usually throw one into most yellow hero decks, even if it's not a vehicle deck.
