that is absolutely fantastic, it is not fan-art it is art, well done, i think i like the quick sketches as much as the colored full fleshed ones, very nice.

Great work Ripper! I tend to steer well clear of combat drawings as they always look "funny" when I do them...

I think its pretty nicely done in terms of style and a lot of fun happening there, but you've got to look at the overall composition of a picture like this because it doesnt lead the eye around the whole scene very easily. The individuals and their actions are great, but they're on top of each other in a way which is almost 'ad-hoc' as in you where looking to squeeze in what you can, where you can... and you can probably spend a lifetime learning that, which is why its a fine art :)

Which is exactly why I am practicing it. =]

Hopefully, the next one will be better...and the following one even better...and so on and so forth until I stop sucking so bad.

Its the curse of being a perfectionist and an artist, nothing is ever good enough, even when it probably is to anyone else gran_risa.gif

Don't be too hard on yourself, it is pretty **** good!

All of these are truly awesome I look forward to seeing more

Here's a pic I did a while ago of my shockingly short-lived Guardsman, Kaarli Zee. I say short lived not because she was brutally and horiffically killed (although, since she was a rubbish shot and only really any good with her mono great axe, that was a distinct likelihood), but because our GM decided he wanted to play the game and not run it, hence I took on GMing duties, and Kaarli faded into the background as most of my NPC hangers-on are fated to do.

I did manage to scribble a pic of her together, at least. Maybe one day I'll bring her out of retirement and use her again. In the meantime, I just imagine she's adding to her finger necklace.

Can someone repost that picture of Commisar Fury? I really want to see that since it combines two types of imagery I really enjoy,

Riggswolfe , I'd be glad to :) Fury2.med.jpg

Sorry I havn't been posting in a long time I've been working on all sorts of different things. As soon as I get some more images finished for Dark Heresy I'll post them up.
Take care,

A commission made as a favour. Some kind of Eldar. I usually don´t do that but it was at the right time and made by a girl. What can I say...

Fantastic Robban-O!

Thank you, but I am not content with it at all. Still, the recipient seemed to like it and that is the most important thing.

The customer is always right ;-)

That's a prity slick drawing, all things considerd. I love the detail work on her gun and the fact that, even as an Eldar, she looks hard and not a possing pinup as so much fan art dealing with female eldar tends to be.

thanks for the drawing once again Robban-O, Graver is right she looks cold and calculating and thats exacty what she is. I didn't want my character to look soft she had spent a great deal of of her time in the company of humans on trader stations, dodging the Inquisition etc so i didnt want any of the usual snobbery you normally get with Eldar. :)

Even though I love the entire thing my fav part is her sword. :D

pretty sweet stuff you got there...what is it about the drawing that's not working for you? i see a few structural/technical things that could be fixed; but i'm diggin' these.

Can I just take a moment - for all you excellent 40k artists (and maybe the not-so-excellent) out there - to promote the Ordo Illuminatus community?

Nice work Robban-O. I really like the almost 'Anime' feel to the pic, quite appropriate for Eldar, that felt 'Japanese' to me long before the Tau took the crown.

I'll add to the chorus of priase for making her look 'hardened'. Very nice.

However, like you i'm rarely happy with my art, and i can see the flaws you probably see also.

Let me guess; you're unhappy with:

  1. The length of torso conpared to the legs
  2. The left hand (holding the pistol)
  3. The disproportionate feet

?

Overall though i really don't think there's much to criticise there, especially as the customer's happy!

Nice work sir... gran_risa.gif

I feel that it is no life in her. The expression is bland, the outlining sloppy and there nothing that sticks out. It is mediocre from my part. Her feet are also huge. There is actually nothing that indicates the she is eldar besides the ear and maybe the eyes. I should have work more on the anatomy to make har look more nimber and taller.

When it comes to the details I think that the weapons are pretty good. I made the shuriken pistol really long, which I think is pretty cool, and the sword is ok. The armour is boring and I should have put in more time into it. I am saticfied with the cloak and the rapping around the neck is good.

Well that some of it

Ahh no, we've got the artists curse XD

This is a really great drawing Robban-O! I'm agreeing that her feet are slightly out of proportion, but I'm not focussing on the feet. I think that if she were made to be any taller and nimbler she'd look a bit..I'm not sure, frail but not in an Eldarey way..if you understand that? She's look like an Old woman rather than an Eldar woman :/ But it's brilliant, I like the face as well, the eyes are definatley eldar, but without being too overexagerrated, great job!

Can we put any kind of Warhammer art on here cause i have a few sketches of some creatuers im going to put my characters against. Im new at the forum bit and how do i transfure my sketches to the sight

I suppose that art related to other games besides DH is probably better suited on their special forums. What you need to do is to find yourself a online gallery, like deviantart.com or photobucket.com. They have the servers to handle the amount of data required to store a lot of images. Then you just link it here.

I still don´t like my eldar that much but your support is warming.
