Character Drawings/Models/Paintings/ etc.

By Ripper.McGuirl, in Dark Heresy

I thought I would revive the Character image thread here on the new boards. Share with the class. Here, I'll go first:

This is Saita Malonna, my sister of battle character...she just got a bolt pistol, so I thought I would commemorate it with a drawing. This is just a quick sketch (~1 hr.), but I hope to color her sometime soon.

Saita Malonna

Since I don't know how to edit my posts:

Here are the characters that I posted in the old thread.

And a larger version of Saita.

Inquisitor...or what ever you find fitting

Sister of battle Acolyte

Here is a couple of drawings I have made. I don't remember wich I posted on the old forum so they could all be oldies. Use them if you want to in your games.

Oi, I really wish I could draw. Kudos to you all. I'm jelous at your creativity here. :)

Rippers are very anime-like (is that a word? lol). They could be used for almost any setting I'd wager. Kinda of clean and simple.

Robban-O went into detail, heh. Very grim and I can really see those being characters in 40K

Out of all the threads from the old board, this one was easily the best. It's good to see that it's been reincarnated.

I love your characters easily some of the best art I have seen

Kudos on the art work, 10/10 for all of it.

I've got the models sorted out to represent my group but due to various other obligations I haven't got around to painting them yet. I guess I'll have to pull my finger out now.

My party's Inquisitor; Lord Sector Inquisitor Auric Kotus of the Ordos Hereticus, Lord Inquisitor of the Hazeroth Sub.

My party work for his Interrorgator, and have only acutally me Lord Kotus a handful of times.

I've yet to color the last one- been way too busy...

very nice :)

look forward to the colour version :)

Cool.

Rabban-O - bottom one had me thinking GQ type photo - IQ, Inquisitor's Quarterly?

Alas, I can't draw either but have been attempting painting. Unfortunately minis that actually look right for PC's rather than WH armies are hard to come by. So I ended up with a Middle Earth fig that fit decently, Dalamyr, for my assassin and will see about getting a pic uploaded. Actually I should look into getting a way of taking a digital picture first.

Chaliced Commissariate Operative Nikolae Yusef Fury as drawn by Acolyte AES

If ever there were a character that belongs in 40K and not Marvel...it's Nick Fury.

The impression I was after in that one was to do a sassy, almost feminine, character while wearing all the gear a acolyte are bound to have. To step away from the usually testosterone draped images with hard men and sexy women. Hos succesfull I was I leave up to you.

From my first time building an IG Army for 40K in 2003 and on my first and favorite Commissar was Commissar Nikolae Yusef Fury, a Commissar Gaunt figure painted with an eye patch. He has done many an amazing thing in many games. From being an Independent Commissar Leading the Growling Grenadiers or my Ogryns (which are built using the metal confrontation Wolfen figs and ork guns) to being a Commissar with the Honorificus Imperialis medal and in a hardened fighter squad (giving him WS 5).

His claim to fame, surviving a colse combat round alone against the Nightbringer when fighting necrons. It just missed so much and when rolled to wound, rolled all 1s. It was a miracle and last turn of the game.

Im currenlty building a new Commissar Fury figure using the new Commissar Fig from GW, but with a complete arm swap from two different steel legion sergeants (one with the pistol in right hand the other for his chainsword in left hand) and a head I got from a figure from another company (shhhh) which has a cigar in his mouth and slight stubble on his face. Im adding the oplets on his shoulders with green stuff and may change his chainsword to a powersword, but I doubt it.

Ill post pics as soon as I find my camera.

As for Dark Heresy, he of course is the narrator of my web page section "Codex Fury". And as a character he is a rank 4 tranch war veteran guardsman, scholar progenium, with rank 3 as Chaliced Commissariate and rank 4 as Legate Investigator.

Some very cool and modern artwork here; love it!

Now for my less cool sketch but it at least looks a little bit like I want him to...was done in about twenty minutes and I'm not good with pencil; I'm used to working straight in acrylics or oils plus my scanner hates ( read; failed to use the proper incantations). Things I'll do when working him out in acrylics is some more work on his mechadendrites as they look a bit like straws now and show some more skingrafts on his arms.

I present you Xerxes Vai, Tech Priest

Nice. Xerxes Vei is definately a Tech Priest that will show up in my game now. Coolname, nice drawing.

This is some really amazing artwork and the attention to detail is really great to see. If only I could draw!

Thanks and...be gentle with him gran_risa.gif

I will try, but I seem to be fond of tech heresy LOL.

I will make him a knowledgable contact. Each adventure, before I use him, I will write you if you like. He is your character after all.

That's okay it's just a name so feel free to loan it gui%C3%B1o.gif Xerxes Vai is interesting to play as a PC because he is Old Path, meaning that for him the Emperor is not the Omnissiah. Tech-heresy? Oh gods no, not this Vai any way. But some of his views leads to all sorts of crazy stuff and no less because two other acolytes in the group are clerics *gasps*. Even worse is that his background lacks anything to do with the Imperial creed (Forge World hooray). I have been told that one more stupid remark by me would get me tossed out of the nearest airlock...needless to say I mumble a lot or speak in binary now. Next rank he's going for Secutor out of the Inq. handbook which might tone those pesky clerics down a bit.

Anyway enough about my char. Nothing to see here, move along people happy.gif

DocIII's brother has produced some of my favorite 40K art, you should be able to find his online portfolio here . He also did the Commisar Furys that peacekeeper_b has on his site.
