I'm aware that B-wings are not competitive at the moment, (admittedly better in Second edition) but I always try to play with B-wings, as they are an intriguing ship. At the moment, my builds are centered on a Braylen Stramm/Trickshot/Collision detector, with Wedge. My current build for B-wings is this:

I prefer R3 astromech on wedge though. They work, and they're cheap.

R2 keeps wedge (and those points) alive longer. 😃

Do you see any point in putting Heavy Laser Cannon on b-wings? I find it's too hard to line up that bullseye arc. Any way to get around that?

I like 4x Blues with AS. Simple yet brutal.

2 blues with HLC and FCS, a blue with leia and FCS, and a blue with R3 astromech.

4 points for whatever.

Love B-Wings. Even better in 2e. Whats not to love with a 1 speed Talon Roll? They're still built like trucks and hit hard. Yes I fly them with HLCs (4 dice at any range if you get bullseye working) throw on afterburners and/or Advanced Sensors to help if needed.

I don't think afterburners are a great buy simply because they've only got one non-red move fast enough to trigger the dratted things.

The other points I agree with wholeheartedly.

Blade Squadron Veterans with Predator/Heavy Laser Cannon is another nice one at 50 points - a lattice of 4 bullseye arcs, any one of which can land some serious pain on whoever it falls on. It's a lot less mobile than an advanced sensors Blue Squadron, but if you can line up the big gun then the person on the receiving end will definitely know they've been shoved.

As an aside for another big hitting truck, I've been having a lot of Success with Han, AP5 and Wullfwarro. AP5 there to help either but mainly Han. The point on this thread? Wulfwarro is also a hard hitting tank of a ship - throw on Trick Shot and Hull Upgrade. That's potentially attack 5 dice when damaged, or 6 through a rock (even if they DO get to roll an additional green die). Bs and Wullfy, hmmm, now there's a thought.

Predator is primary only, otherwise I think its solid. Personally I've seen the named ones do well with AP coordinating, makes them hit like a truck:

I really wish this were awesome, unfortunately Predator is Primary Weapon only. I think this comes up in every B-Wing thread, because it looks like it should fit so well and be amazing.

Yeah, with the 1t/2k/AS/BR, the fact the you are flying a swarm of 4 in tight formation, can choose their move order, and you move 1st, your ability to block/control area and, as a results, focus your fire is pretty nuts.

Also, while 1 agi sucks, 4 shield/4hull is in a place where they basically have to shoot you 3x times (fully modded 3 die) to kill a 50pt generic, which is hard to do once you start the bump fest then pull the tight turn arounds.

Yeah, I tried something like that once. 180 arc, Tanky ship, it works really well.
