Do nubs count for measuring range for a target lock?

By Rettere, in X-Wing Rules Questions

When do nubs count vs not count? Any reference in 2.0?

Pg. 11 in the Rules Reference. Ignored for range and arc measurements, not ignored when moving, overlapping, etc.

GUIDES
Each ship’s base has two pairs of guides, one pair on the front and one pair on the back. Some devices also have a pair of guides.
Guides on a ship’s base are ignored only while measuring range or determining whether a ship is in an arc.

Nothing much to add, this sums it up nicely.

  • Nubs count for movement, overlapping, and bumping (this is why two ships, nose-to-nose, can never perform a 1-straight maneuver and clear the other ship).
  • Nubs don't count for all purposes of measuring range and arc (for locks, coordinate, jam, attacks, device detonation, etc)

But... Nubs on bombs/mines DO count for measuring range of the bomb!
