Today's announcement was for another box expansion for Runebound (the name escapes me at this moment). John Goodenought introduced with its pieces and gave us information on the mechanics. A lot of them will make the game go faster and make this game the best expansion yet. We were even allowed to gander at the 6 new characters' and adventure cards.

The board game overlay is like in the wilds of Africa and lots of magic, deities and roaming monsters. They'll make an announcement on this site shortly. I believe this'll be coming out a few months from now.

This is the news I was hoping to hear, and why I was regretting not being able to slip up to the Twin Cities for this event. A cool "jungle" setting and some interesting new characters should make for another fun expansion.

This is very cool news. For Frozen Wastes I really liked the additional rules (weather, searching for artifacts/princess, etc), but throught the encounter were pretty unimaginative - fairly boring special abilities, and generally not that hard. I hope they fix that aspect in this expansion.

That's what I'm talking about Glad FFG are still supporting Runebound. To my mind at least it's still one of their best games.

I'm speculating (from the rulebook of Runewars) that the title of this new Runebound expansion is going to be "JUNGLES OF ZAGARA".

AWESOME news! I was hoping to hear about a new expansion after The Realms of Terrinoth event ended.

I will definitely be picking this up, although I still have to buy the Frozen Wastes expansion too, my base game still gets more play time than Island of Dread and Sands of Al-Kalim so I've been holding off but I can't resist more Runebound stuff, as long as FFG keeps releasing it I'll own it all eventually.

Oh boy, oh boy. that's good. But Still i want a co-op fantasy game like Arkham Horror. They should make 1 expansion dedicated to multiplayer cooperative game.

Don't ya think that would be totally cool and fun? For that co-op, the Challenge have to be far stronger that the normal base game.

Didn't Midnight do this? That is, make Runebound co-op? I think they have already traveld this road.

Midnight did a lot more than make RB co-op. It messed around with the economy and the stats too. The midnight heroes had lower HP and poorer chances to kill things, IIRC (which was fine since the challenges were scaled down too, but they don't mix well with the rest of RB.) Another pertinent point is that this expansion doesn't appear to make anyone "Overlord" at least from what I've read. Keeping all the players on the hero side is an important detail for my RB experience, if I want an OL, I'll play Descent. =)
