I’d love to see some characters that could be used in either army (or multiple armies). These would be leaders and operatives, pretty much. Same or similar abilities, different minis. The two obvious examples are Kallus and Iden Versio. I’d enjoy the crap out of that.

Heck, The Grand Inquisitor could work for both Empire and Republic. Rex and Ashoka could work for Rebels and Republic. I can’t think of any Separatist examples, though.

how about palp for the other bad guys repblic or maybe everyone but rebels.

You’ve sort of lost me; what are Imperial Fleet troopers? And where were they in ROTJ on Endor?

I don’t recall anything in the trilogy distinguishing one group of Stormtroopers from any other though.

As @Rogue Three said, Imperial Navy Troopers is another name for them. (Also get called Death Star troopers, but you see them at a variety of places besides the two Moon o'Dooms) If you look at the picture on this link, you can see them standing with Stormtroopers, as well as Imperial Army AT-STs and captured terrorists.

In the OT, Stormtroopers were visually the same as each other, but they would have had some unit structure, even if it wasn't obvious to the viewers. The newest Thrawn book (part of the Disney canon) talks about their rank/unit markings being white on white, and thus very difficult to see with the naked eye, but still visible.

And, just spitballing, it could be interesting to see certain unit cards get a buff with certain leaders. Not really sure what it would entail (I'm starting with a concept, then working into what would actually do), but say a 501st unit would get Defensive surges, or surge to crit if Vader was the commander, while the Shocktroopers could get a bonus from Palpatine. We've already got a small taste of this with Palps and Krennic getting free Royal Guards and Deathtroopers respectively, this would just help corps units, and also give them a bit of variation depending on the unit.

Ah, I’ve never heard anyone use anything but naval/Death Star trooper.

I would like to see Inferno squadron as a specialist choice

Probably a result from all the years I spent playing Star Wars: Rebellion on PC, where these guys are in a unit called "Imperial Fleet Regiment."

How I wish they would do an updated version of that game!

I also remember the original Dark Forces calling them 'Commandos' which seemed weird to me as they mostly seem to spend their time loitering around control panels and doors in the films!

Rebellion was a great game. I still play it from time to time.

I would like to see the following miniatures made for 2019 -

Luke or Han on a TaunTaun

A new Dewback w/ Sandtrooper

Lando Calrissian

An X-Wing fighter

And since Jan Erso was brought in...Kylo Ren & Supreme Leader Snoke

A New Rancor w/ Rancor Keeper

and as well as we all know...there are so many more we would like to see! Just my thoughts for the new year :)
