I would die if we had a 'Rebels' themed wave, with the Imperials getting Thrawn (probably 120 points) and Grand Inquisitor (150ish?). Anyways, I'd love to have both. On a lesser note, maybe an 80 point Agent Kallus operative?
What's your wishlist?
I'm a rebel main. Even though I love clones (particularly cause I love the Clone Wars series, and the Clones in that show), Rebels will continue to be my main because, other than having the playstyle I love, they're very easy to customize model-wise with bits and the like while still fitting into canon lore.
Anyways, with that in mind, I would LOVE to see DF.9 Laser Turret as a Stationary Heavy unit for the Rebels. I'd also really like to see Tauntaun Riders as a support for Rebels. Maybe as a 2 or 3 of squad?
For the Imperials, however, I'd like to see them get the Dewback Trooper as a support, and as for the heavy... not sure. Imperials have many heavies I'd like to see, but I think the TX-225 Occupier would be an interesting inclusion that most would recognize easily.
Now, as for the Clones and Separatists.... My step bro will be playing Separatists, he wants to do a'junkyard droids' theme, with various droid bits replacing parts of the droid bodies. Anywayssss I think having Grievous, a STAP Squad, and 2x B1 Battle Droid Squads up against Kenobi, an AT-RT, and 2x Clone Trooper squads would make for a good starter box for that era.
I've just started painting up my Rebels, but for me it's Echo Base troopers and Tauntaun riders that would be top of the list. Any of the Rogue One, Rebels, or remaining trilogy cast as leaders or support. Rebels don't seem to have a lot of heavy equipment to bring to bear, but can probably make it up through heroic characters.
Dewbacks for my Imperial brethren, and maybe the Reconnaissance Troop Transport.
Ewoks, Tauntaun, AT-AT.
Also new CORPS units for both sides (that are not CW or Prequel Tri) and i'd actually love to see even The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi -era units over CW and Prequels.
Anything really from GCW and Rogue One, just hope they push out as much stuff as possible before putting out anything that has connections to Prequel Trilogy, Clone Wars or them other **** cartoons related.
I'll be lucky if we get half of the above. Also.

Hoping Clone Wars brings named clones as commander or operative. Would like to be able to run Anakin, Rex, and maybe Ahsoka in a list.
The rest of the trilogy heroes:
Lando, Obi-Wan “Old Ben” Kenobi, Wickett, Ewok Corps.
and some villains:
Bossk, IG-88, Probe droid
Overall: I'd love to see more generic units, and far fewer named characters overall. I'd also love to see more deployment options and objectives, preferably to make the game more force on force and less raiding. I'd like to see indirect fire options in the form of artillery and/or mortars for all factions.
Faction specific:
Imperial: Shocktroopers as an improved corps option, fleet troopers and mud troopers as cheaper corps (with fleet having defensive bonuses, and mud troopers being terrible, but able to be used in mass) TIE Strikers for air support, and an AT-PT for a cheap armor option.
Rebels: The king of Rebel air support, thy rebel majesty and most supreme bomber, the Y-Wing.
Republic: Clones. Lots of them. With the average Clone being of higher quality than the corps units we have thus far, and there being a definite difference between the Phase I and Phase II troopers. The LAAT/I gunship would be great to see, but I doubt we'll get it too early in the release schedule. For SF, I'd like to see a 4 mini Clone Commando team, and for operative, a single mini ARC trooper.
All of this... I'd love to see both Luke and Han on tauntauns. And of course with each of their respective packs I'd like to see Han and Luke in cold weather gear on foot as well. But I think I'll have to wait awhile to see that. Here's hoping.

The generic operatives would actually be a cool idea. The imperial one has to look like Garidan and have spy-themed command cards
Dewbacks are a must, some other type of armor or something to address the poor ATST/Airspeeder situation.
3rd merc/scum faction would be at the top of my wishlist, much to the chagrin of several people on this channel.

Past what we know now, I'd like to see another Heavy for each side, then tauntauns and dewbacks with the Cavalry keyword and accompanying special rules. Then they can go ahead and do Clone Wars for 6 months or so. I'm not buying them, but I'd like to fight them.
More light vehicles such as the armored transport "trucks" from rebels.
More crew served weapons like the E web.
Definitely more walkers we still have two more canon walkers the ATDP and the walker from Solo.
Also dedicated artillery but that may not be unless we get an epic version (also the only way ATATs and ATTEs get introduced)
What I want are pilot models, an imperial probe droid, and 4 new factions; Resistance, First Order, Seperatist and republic.
Also, more generic commanders and models.

since we have fleet troopers how about officers and named characters that you mainly only see on star ships in the movies shows? so we arnt just always fighting on the planet surface but defending/attacking in boarding actions of enemy ships etc, to elaborate hangers on most ships are pretty big and could easily be used as a battlefield (and not have to worry about corridors) hope FFG make a hanger mat for each side could also double as hangers in bases as well.
im sure they werent on a star ship 24/7 would be cool to have admiral ackbar leading some troops on the ground as well with some mon cala troops etc, maybe a Mara Jade if she is still cannon a good and evil version?

It's no big deal to run shipboard combat missions now.
We have fleet troopers vs stormtroopers which is the one boarding action of the OT. Plus generic (ship compatible) commanders and droids coming soon. Navy troopers would be ideal. But Darth Vader is mostly on ships, Luke in his Bespin costume is only on a ship-like-object, Chewbacca and Boba Fett are environmentally flexible. So we at least have the basics of running a battle on a Star Destroyer or rebel frigate.
Get a grey or white piece of 3x6 felt for around $10. Get lots and lots of crates. If SW ones are too hard to acquire in the necessary quantities, dilute them with lots of cheap model railroad 20th century steel drums. Build a couple gantries or docked ships or gigantic shipping containers to use as buildings and add some elevation.
Course in a perfect world for shipboard combat, we'd have imperial navy troops, assorted pilots, and maybe some mon cals, more generic heroes, etc.

Can you guys and others with similar opinions explain the need for more generic commanders? We're getting the first generic commander kits this month sometime, What More do you need? Or do they need to be more generic (cheaper, less abilities, less beard or other identifying marks). I believe the best thing coming out with the present kit is going to be the command cards that will really splash some flavor on a list. The Imperial faction seems to have all the cool commanders up to this point anyway.
The Other question I had or sentiment I don't understand is the need for pilots. In a skirmish game, what part does the pilot or squad of pilots play? Or is this mainly a desire for alternative sculpts? Up to this point the Scout trooper is very different than the standard stormtrooper which is different than the eWeb, etc. The rebellion figures all look the same but have a different effect in game play. Do you just want figures that look different?
Sounds like we need a Death Star Interior mat x2 for the new year and some indoor objectives?

More kinds of them. In my book Veers counts as a "generic" cause that could be anyone in that uniform. So Imperials are about to have two. Rebels are about to have their first one, which I can paint to look ok-but-not-quite-right on Hoth. In a perfect world I want the following additional generic-ish commanders: Hoth rebel on foot and on tauntaun, ewok, Scendorif rebel on Cracian Thumper, wookie, mon calamari, sandtrooper on foot and on dewback, snowtrooper, stormtrooper.
By generic-ish I mean, I'd accept Reikan or someone as roughly generic as Veers is.

They'd still be several orders of magnitude more commonly encountered than the head of state. When they released Palpatine, arguments of "In a skirmish game, what part does X play" lost all traction with me. Pilots could be running across the battlefield to get to transports, they could be regular troops who had to wear spacesuits for whatever reason (not a stretch in a space opera), they could be shuttle crews helping out when the base is attacked, any number of reasons to have them.
Pilots are cool for shipboard games, rebel pilots "look right" on Hoth, TIE fighter pilots can be easily repainted as AT-AT crewmen for Hoth. They lend themselves to being repainted in wild colors to make a squad of bounty hunters. Pilots models are great.

Partly yes. 3x Scendorif Rebels, a Scendorif driver for the AT-RT, plus 1 different squad (fleets), was a highly limiting design choice for the rebel faction.
Different effect in gameplay means nothing to me, except how it all fits into the force organization chart.
I am almost wholly driven in my real-world purchasing by figures, not stats. If snowsuit rebels had the exact same stats and upgrade cards as fleet troopers or something, I'd still buy loads of them. I do try to get a mix of abilities: I take some infantry, some long range support, etc. But I don't go out and buy a corps unit with THIS keyword to tackle THAT Pretendland job, and the other corps unit with THAT keyword to tackle THIS Pretendland job. It's just not how I spend my money.
I also think the imperial releases so far look pretty much all the same. Snowtroopers aren't too bad but they're pushing it. Deathtroopers, stormtroopers and scoutroopers? More of the sametroopers. Getting Navy troops before scout or death would have actually gotten money from me. I bought 5 units of snowtroopers and just enough regular stormtroopers (ie, 3 squads) to play with. I really liked the scouts when I was a kid, but since I already had at least a few on bikes and they're still just more b&w armored humanoids, I passed on the infantry squad of them. For now anyway. Deathtroopers are just... come on. People already could and did paint ordinary stormtroopers in glossy black to make passable death troopers. That was just a pointless release, at this juncture. The repainted stormtroopers aren't a perfect deathtrooper match but they're a heckuva lot closer than any other repaint we are currently commonly doing. So all that stuff, or the things that are impossible to approximate via a repaint, shoulda come out before deathtroopers or yet more Scendorif rebels.
For all imperial purposes, I hope we're done with [storm]troopers of all kinds for the next two years or so. I think they make up 75% of imperial army building stuff right now. That's fine, but, further resources sholdn't be wasted on more of them. It's gonna get to be like when GW endlessly re-sculpts tactical marines for no reason. Sandtroopers on dewbacks, or a snowtrooper commander, is the only thing different enough from what's already out there, to pique my interest.
But, as I try and remind myself, sometimes illogical release schedules are due to circumstances beyond the publishers control. And it's only a game.

Well, to only use the Empire as an example, it would be both simple and interesting to have cards and models for the different branches of the military. For example, a generic ISB officer or tech officer. Of course, you could represent this with the upcoming kit, but it would be more interesting and flavourful to create unique rules for different officer types.
As for pilots, I don't want them as units in an army as such, but they would make a great expansion where they are the focus of several mission types. 'Escort/capture the pilot' is a fairly classic example that multiple games have used. I'd hate to see a unit based on the idea of pilots as some kind of skirmish option but, let's be honest, the game already has the supreme silliness of the Emperor getting personally involved in a fight for some moisture vaporators.

The desire for me wanting more generic sculpts are; One, thematic - having Darth Vader and Papa Palpatine walking around every battlefield game wise is fine, but doesn't make sense. Generic commanders offer a nice break from the elite units.
Two; yes, alternate sculpts are a great thing. As the (i hope first of several) generic commanders come with different troop upgrades/units, more of these type of upgrades/units will only add to the game.
Three, I personally feel that using non iconic characters makes for a better game. Besides the slight immersion breaking of havig, say Vader present at every battle, having bare bones non-unique forces square off leads to more interesting tactical choics - units don't have as many abilities and are weaker, so you get a different play style.
Four, this is almost an addendum to point two, but generic leaders let someone customise their army with some personal (or more aptly personnel) fanfiction. Having more generic commanders lets you make your own persona for your army. This isn't for everyone of course, but adding in variants of the generic commanders can let you make an mini alter ego.
Also, different sculpts of generic commande, that can be added to squads as a leader, can break up the uniform poses of say every stormtrooper Squad. Yes. Many of us will customise on our own, but some don't have the skill/desire, but offering a variant (especially with other new upgrades/units) will also help FFG make money. I've seen people buy multiples of identical expansions, so why not offer differnt poses too? The fanbase will appreciate it.
Now, as to the pilots, this is a desire to have iconic screen viewed costumes depicted in the table. But, pilots could come with an objective card where they have to get to a location, before being defeated, which adds to the situations that make battles different, which I think could make things fun. Also, why wouldn't pilots work? Say the table is an imperial base or hanger, all the more reason to have TIE pilots. In legends, Rogue and Wraith squad did land based ops. Perhaps the rebel army playing needs the manpower of pilots when assaulting the base? While it is for me, a desire for different troop types, there are hundreds of logical reasons to have pilots as a viable trooper type.

Cheaper alternative sculpts than the 3D printed ones I have are always welcome. My background as a modeler/converter means I'm always for new custom fodder. I buy almost two of everything just so I can cut one one to bits and make something new out of it. I've done some poor-man sculpting from green-stuff as well, because I can't stand 2 models with the same pose on the battlefield.
I'm also more interested in gameplay mechanics and other options though, where one can really expand the playing options within the game. Which is one reason I can't wait for the new command cards in generic officers' pack. I can use stick figures or whatever to play the game, but if the rules suck or are too one-dimensional than I lose interest, and can get miniatures of different variety and quality (star wars or otherwise) from other venues.
