Tie Striker bumping

By McGarnacle, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I didn't know if there has been a new official ruling on this.

Does a Tie Striker loose its action if it bumps as part of its Adaptive Ailerons?

Short answer: No. TIE Strikers & Reapers only skip their perform action step if they overlap a ship on their dial maneuver.

Long answer: It's Complicated. I'm doing the research now and will edit this post with the official results. :D According to the Rules Reference Guide , any time a ship changes position using a template, it's considered to be a "move," and any time a ship moves, it suffers the effects of obstacles. Since there is no text on the cards (or in the RRG) which states that the Aileron move is exempt from this effect, one argument is that you do lose your action step. HOWEVER. On the " Official Rulings " thread pinned at the top of this Forum, it states that the Aileron maneuver from Strikers and Reapers does NOT cause you to lose your perform action step, either by bumping a ship or overlapping an asteroid. This set of rulings should be taken as official, despite not being officially included in the RRG; it's important to note that some people question the enforcability of these rulings, since they are not (yet) included in an offical rules document.

Excellent, thank you. Well, Strikers are a bit better now.
