Lets see, Force token seems to cost 10pts as standard. Luke gunner is a reactive rotate action (effectively a free action since he provides the charge necessary to turn the arc) that triggers at the start of the Engagement Phase. While many consider him a crutch (good flying can usually fill the same role), he does open up a **** of allot of action economy and mind games for turret ships, and being able to do so in a reactive nature regardless of init with a likely lock or other mod or a full on reposition... I think he's about where he should be.

also of note is the fact that Luke gunner and Luke pilot cannot be in the same list (obviously) so ur not able to double down on two crazy good effects in the same squad.

Luke Gunner costs slightly under half of what Luke Pilot does and still provides a really powerful ability if utilized properly. I'm firm on my opinion that Luke Gunner is where he should be cost wise.

No one wants to live in a world where Luke gunner is undercosted. That said, no one is using him, so it’s cost could go down a touch.

I see where you're coming from, but given pricing on Paige and Agile Gunner (which I understand are not 100% equiv), and costing of outright free actions like Perceptive CP, plus given that on any given round you either get 'force token' or 'free rotate' - I'd argue for ~25 points on G Luke.

🀨 You're saying drop Luke down to 5 points or down to 25 points?

Grand Quis at 16 can do a similar, yet worse, version of this reactive action.

At 24 pts I'd still rather have another ship over Luke Gunner, but it'd be fun to see him in the Falcon with Han & Chewie. So that's where I'd put it although it makes little difference as I still think that's a crazy cost when Rey is amazeballs in Resistance

The timing difference between the two and the proximity req is where the points difference comes in.

LOL πŸ˜‰ by the twiddle I meant 'approx 25'

🀨 It isn't a tilde on my screen which was why I was confused. My browser seems to display the tilde as a larger minus... More to the point, while I don't agree with it 25 pts for Luke Gunner is allot more reasonable than 5 pts.

I figured it was either something like that, or your eyes are going south with old age like mine ;)

πŸ˜† If it was more than 3 feet from my face I'd have to agree. Thankfully I have problems with farther objects instead of closer. It is going to suck when I end up loosing the lower end of my vison range as well. :)

Because it's the kind of no-brainer stupid auto-damage we thought would die with 1st edition.

Most force users pay about 10pts for the force alone. So for about 4pts you get auto-damage. Also, e.g. Maul is 13pts.

He needs an arc and it is not autodmg. It is an very costly ability an you will see that thay don't make him cost more. I think players who are afraid about vader dont find answers. That dont need any points adjustment.

Hmm, it seems that your opinion on the pricing of Vader is in a minority of, well, 1 in this thread.

The build where Vader is severely undercosted is on Whisper with Juke. Whisper wants to have arc anyway, to shoot. Whisper wants range 1 if possible and has the mobility to get both of these quite easily. And then it is autodamage unless the target has multiple green tokens (or has Force tokens as well as a green token to start with) since Juke will cancel one evade.

Compare how often Vader crew is played vs any or even *all* the other force-using crew cards combined!

You explain it well what I mean. I don't think Vader is too cheap. I think he is well priced. Maybe a bit too expansive. The problem here was not a problem with the price of Vader. It is a problem of the Phantom chassis. Having a crew slot in the Phantom is the real problem. The same with Sloane. If Vader costs more it means no one take him on a other chassis. Because of that I think FFG solve the problem in an other way as only by price ajustment. And I think everyone know it. To make him expensive is not thought much.

is anyone surprised there has been no hint of an announcement for points yet? 3 wks of january remain...

WAVE 3 is not far off, if we can believe this statement...

Look for the third wave of X-Wing expansions at your local retailer in the first quarter of 2019.

would be cool to have a bit more info released about some of the pilots and upgrades...

Depends on browser. My phone has Chrome and it comes up as a tilde instead of the elongated dash.

Hmm, right, looks correct on the phone. On my windoze machine (chrome) it looks like this
