This might be interesting... Cosmic Format

Nope, that is why I put them opposite from the Republic for my format.

Now of course there is a slight continuity problem with The 1st Order receiving the aid of Count Dooku (because he died before they exist), but since we are playing a game that allows you to have Biggs Darklighter face off against Kylo Ren I consider that only a minor stipulation. ;)

why did you place the rebellion opposite of the first order anyway

So that those two can never be taken as allies (at least not in A&M format). The format doesn't clump ships all together into "superfactions" (i.e. Lightside vs Darkside) it just arranges the factions in a way that the two nearest factions makes the most sense for being in the same list. No factions are adjacent to their nemesis, and I can somewhat spin a story on why a squadron has ships from another faction.

After the clone wars the empire split into the Empire and the Rebel Alliance, and the C.I.S. was supposed to be demilitarized (even though in other sources Rebels did use C.I.S. stuff). Resistance and 1stOrders are descendants of those two factions. Separatists was a little tricky so the premise I came up with is during the Galactic Civil War demilitarization was not so thorough possibly due to interruptions so the lost technology of the separatists still remains to be rediscovered by the current warring factions.

There you have it, as for Scum well they are the ones that have no allegiance nor reservations against any of the other faction other than who can pay them the most. So even though Scum can never take an ally, they can be taken as allies by any of the other 6 factions.

@Da_Brown_Bomber , I don't just think it's a great idea, I'd be surprised if ffg doesn't add this kind of "Dark side Vs Light Side" format after we've got all 7 factions out there.

People are gonna want the ability to create combined squads on the main app somehow.

i think a themed format like Cosmic opens up the game and takes away so many restrictions it would be really interesting to see what squads ppl came up with. imo the diversity would be thru the roof.

Agreed, Especially since Dark side has more factions.

As for the combined squads I already got 8 of them HERE

Sure 4 of those are pretty much custom format duplicates but that was for reasons of my alternative formatting.

You're a greater gymnast than I.

Don't know about flips and stuff, I'll leave that to the lightsaber battles. But I was just working on a system which mix factions that was a little bit better than Megafactions (aka Dark Side vs Light Side or Rebels vs Imperials). I mean what else could we do? I guess we could just say Rebels and Empire are Opposite, so is Resistance and 1stOrder, also Republic and Seperatists, so any two factions other than those 3 pairs can make up a single list, but that would get a little too crazy IMHO.

You worry about opposites too much. In this format all that matters is Heroes VS. Villains.

You'll hate this- but Battlefront II 2 got it right. It would never make sense for Greivous to fight alongside Luke even if Separatists somewhat aligned with The Rebellion. However, that means he'd have to fight alongside his greatest adversary, Obi-Wan. This type of allying will not do.

So you end up with Sep/Emp/FO VS. Rep/Reb/Res

And in this format, Scum's hireable by whoever.

So you would prefer Light Side / Dark Side Mega factions. Fair enough.
