Lando + Fang Fighters

By j_man_04, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Finally got the Scum convert kit so I can put Lando's Falcon on the table. I was looking at pairing him with some Fang Fighters. Is this viable or do I need to make adjustments to beef up the generic Fang Fighter?

Skip PerCo, take predator on Fenn and upgrade recruit to Teroch or Kad.

I don't think Drone is worth it.

I play Lando + Fenn + Teroch recently. With reasonable bid, it's strong. Not sure how it goes against swarms tho.

I play Hyperspace version, so no 000, no Intertial Dampeners but with Qi'ra and L3-37 crew which plays good with Lando's ability (9 greens to get rid of stress after using ability)

Playing Fangs is very entertaining: high risk - high reward.

The basic Fang is pretty awesome, I don't think it needs anything. Just add seasoning to taste.

My own experience is with a Swarm Tactics Teroch and a Zealous Recruit. Swarm is great for the 1st/2nd engagement, giving you the insurance to just joust a lot of things, but after that I was happy to let them drift apart. Teroch would tend to draw attention, which let the Recruit shine on his own. It's just an excellent frame.

In fact, every time I make a Scum list now, I like to fit a bare Zealous Recruit in. Fenn feels like a lot of points just for Initiative to me, but it depends on context.

Swarm Tactics Fenn with a Recruit seems a good way to stretch the points to me. Moving 1st with one of the Fangs can offer some useful strategies.

Thanks for the feedback. I do like @Cuz05 's suggestion of Swarm Tactics. With this list, I did have a lot of extra points by removing Fenn, so I was looking at Joy. Swarm Tactics isn't as huge with I4 ships, but depending on the matchup, it could still make a big difference.

I don't really know how effective Tobias is, but I just think the ability is so Scum-like, that it could be included.

Fenn isn't just Initiative. +1 red/+1 green in r1 is super powerful.

Oh duh, of course it is, brain fail :D

I mean, I firmly believe Lando is best in the Escape Craft docked to Han with L3-37, Trick Shot, and the title.

But, if you want to fly Lando, in the Falcon, I think he definitely wants L3 on top of Trick Shot, Title, and 0-0-0 to help address his stress - same reason I put her on Han above.

However, I seem to think he wants some other stressing buddies. 4-LOM seems clear there.

That being said, the Fangs are undoubtedly good
