Autofire

By Kilcannon, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Can autofire hit more than one enemy? Or is it only the same enemy?

If the same enemy would it be too much to allow an addition advantage cost to allow other targets?

It can hit multiple targets. Dice pool is based on highest Difficulty among them.

Per RAW, yes, as you have to select a primary target, and can then spend your advantages to either hit multiple foes or just that one target. So focusing your fire on a single person is perfectly legal, though you're still increasing the difficulty for using the auto-fire quality.

Honestly, I think the designers intended that the type of opponents the PCs would generally be doing this for would have ranks of Adversary and the benefit of ranged defense, be it from armor or cover, or would be large minion groups (who are generally meant to be taken down fairly quickly anyway).

Oh my.

I've been mechanically limiting autofire to one opponent.

My players are in REAL trouble now. Imperial Stormtroopers LOVE their E-Webs . . . it's about the only thing that will slow down a lightsaber wielding force sensitive anymore.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure.

Now wondering if Linked and 2 weapon fighting being allowed to hit multiple targets instead of only one for an additional advantage is ok? Or being the GM if I want an enemy to hit two PCs I just do it?

Since the Gunslinger specialization has a top-tier talent made specifically to allow hitting multiple targets with two-weapon fighting, a mere additional Advantage seems too small of a cost. I'd allow it for a Triumph, maybe.
