Concussillision - Putting more “special” in your forces since winter 2018

By Pewpewpew BOOM, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I loved SFs in 1.0 and am glad to have them back on the table. I get very little time to play so I have not gotten in a game yet with them, but this looks plenty fun to me...

Concussillion Jukechronizer Total points: 199

As far as I can see, trickshot will not work on obstacles that are affected by CD, but I figure it will be useful at other times since these guys will be in the thick of the terrian much of the time. I envision lots of abrupt turns and unpredictability! 😁

What about this?

QD (Juke, FCS, Targeting Synch, Gunner)

3x Zetas (Concs, Failsafes)

Without TLs for rerolls, Failsafe will help not waste charges. FCS MAJORLY improves QD

Hhhactually.....

"Q: What does “ignores obstacles” mean? Do Han Solo [Pilot, Customized YT-1300] and Qi’ra [Crew] work together? What about Dash Rendar [YT-2400] and Outrider [Title]?

A: When an effect says a ship “ignores obstacles,” it means that ship “ignores the effects of obstacles.” A ship that is “ignoring obstacles” does not apply the effects of overlapping or moving through them. When that ship performs an attack that is obstructed by an obstacle it ignores the effects of the obstruction, so the defender does not roll 1 additional defense die being obstructed by the obstacles the attacker is ignoring.

However, the obstacles are still treated as being present for effects that check for their presence or absence. Additionally, an attack is obstructed by an obstacle even while the effects of the obstacle are ignored. This applies to cards such as Outrider, Han Solo [Pilot, Customized YT-1300], and Trick Shot (Talent).

Additionally, other ships do not ignore the obstacle when resolving effects that interact with a ship that is ignoring obstacles. For instance, while a ship that is ignoring obstacles defends, if the attack is obstructed, it still rolls 1 additional defense die because the attacker is not ignoring the effects of obstacles."

Double gravy!

Also, awesome squad name always wins.

You read this interaction the same way as me. When I elect to spend a CD charge, my ship ignores the effects of the obstacle (so no Trick Shot and no obstruction +1 green die for my target) but my opponent must still heed the effects (+1 green die for my ship if the obstacle in question obstructs a shot at my ship).

I think it will also be much harder for enemy ships to spoil ordnance shots by jumping into R1 when I am able to use terrain like that. 😁

Not really. The object is treated as present when an effect (Trick Shot) checks for its presence. So still +1 red die. Trick Shot is not ignoring the object.

But correct, no extra green dice for your opponent as you (your ship's attack dice) are ignoring it. And +1 green for you because their ship's attack is not.

There's basically no downside to ignoring objects, although it sort of feels like there must be one somewhere.

Unless you mean no Trick Shot for your opponent.... In which case I'm suddenly questioning my own existence....

They are not ignoring it, so Trick Shot works for them too, but you still get +1 green. Surely.

I agree with everything but this.

Isn’t obstructing my ship’s line of fire to a target an effect of an obstacle? If so, then that is ignored just like the other effects.

Nah, obstructing is just a matter of presence, it has no inherent effect. Technically, other ships obstruct. There's just normally no effect

Collision Detector, Trick Shot & Missiles is a nasty combination. Normally, it's hard to parlay detector into ignore-obstacles missile shots since you have to fly over the rock, but heavy weapon turret makes that awesome - and 4-dice missiles are great.

I love both lists. Trick Shot experts are great, but I think getting a targeting synchroniser ace or squad leader will do more good than a 'budget' quickdraw.

  • Backdraft
    • Fanatical
    • Fire Control System
    • Targeting Synchroniser
    • Hull Upgrade

Is 56 points, fitting in nicely with the Omegas. With Fantical and +1 hull you're pretty tough for a small ship, and still get a 3-dice attack with the tail gun. Alternatively, Fanatical/Hull can become Hotshot gunner for token-stripping.

I think I could go with this for a TS list. I6 is the way to go for TS.

(45) "Quickdraw"
(6) Concussion Missiles
(5) Targeting Synchronizer
Points 56

3x (36) Omega Squadron Expert
(6) Concussion Missiles
(5) Collision Detector
(1) Trick Shot
Points 48

Total points: 200

However, I wonder if I should just skip the TS and just aggressively fly 4 of these guys below. I can drop the failsafes for up to an 8pt bid if that becomes meaningful.

(36) Omega Squadron Expert
(6) Concussion Missiles
(5) Collision Detector
(1) Trick Shot
(2) Munitions Failsafe
Points 50

I played twice tonight and went with Null, Gunner QD, and 2 Concussollision Experts:

How about this?

TIE/sf Fighter - •“Quickdraw” - 66
•“Quickdraw” - Defiant Duelist (45)
Swarm Tactics (3)
Fire-Control System (3)
Special Forces Gunner (10)
Targeting Synchronizer (5)

TIE/sf Fighter - Omega Squadron Expert - 45
Omega Squadron Expert - (36)
Swarm Tactics (3)
Concussion Missiles (6)

TIE/sf Fighter - Omega Squadron Expert - 45
Omega Squadron Expert - (36)
Swarm Tactics (3)
Concussion Missiles (6)

TIE/sf Fighter - Zeta Squadron Survivor - 40
Zeta Squadron Survivor - (34)
Concussion Missiles (6)

Total: 196/200
