[Imperial] Atypical lists

By Rubales, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi!

since 2.0 was launched, I've seen many lists focused on bombers, punisher, phantom... It seems they are the most popular imperial ships right now, and they can be seen everywhere. But what's your experience flying tie agressors, inquisitor or gunboats in 2.0? I'm a bit lost with them, so I would appreciate some help to make the most of them.

Thanks in advance!

I personally love both the gunboat and the inquisitor's tie! Specifically, I really like using the arsenal load-out, ion cannon and advanced SLAM on he gunboat to create a zippy annoyance that usually draws fire away from my other ships. And I almost always fly my inquisitors as a nimble missile platform. With instinctive aim, and their really awesome dial, you can have tons of fun firing off unexpected rockets!

Hey

Iv used in casual play a deci with 2 gunboat rho's and loved every second. The deci was oicunn with minister tua and other upgrades i never actually needed. and the rho's had ruthless, os 1,proton torps, fcs and advanced slam.

Oicunn is played super aggressive obviously and goes straight down the middle hunting down his prey and taking everything that thrown at him, while the rho's flank on both sides. The deci never survives but thats acceptable.

As someone who always played imp arc dodgers such as darth n inquisitor in 1.0 i find this tanky list a blast to fly.

Definitely switching oicunn for chiranau which will only have tau and leave rho's as is. Cant wait to fly it!

This is the Oicunn build I use. Mixed results as I'm not all that good yet. But, I'm convinced the list is good.

Alpha -class Star Wing - Rho Squadron Pilot - 50
Rho Squadron Pilot - (37)
Crack Shot (1)
Proton Torpedoes (9)
Advanced SLAM (3)
Os-1 Arsenal Loadout (0)

Crack Shot (1)
Proton Torpedoes (9)

VT-49 Decimator - •Captain Oicunn - 99
•Captain Oicunn - Inspired Tactician (84)
Intimidation (3)
•Death Troopers (6)
Dauntless (6)

Total: 199/200

Aggressors are priced out of play. Bombers do everything better.

The gunboats are worthy. Bombers are pricing them out as well, but that SLAM action is money and good players can take advantage. Ive been running supernatty Vader with FCS, Redline with Proton Torps, and Vynder with torps, adv slam. Been loving it. Currently put on the back burner (casual list) cause its not hyperspace legal.

I dont really spend time with the Inquisitors cause they are in a bad price range as well. Bombers are cheaper ordnance, and adding any upgrades onto Inquisitors ship just puts them in Phantom/Soontir price range and its better to just take them.

Try to downgrading both Rho to Nu and add Fire-Control-System, that way you can slam and get 1 reroll. More or less making it possible to shot torpedoes every round.

I can dig it. :)

The Aggressor is a tricky one. Possibly not gonna do much with one against the meta. But there is one that may have a place if points changes have an impact, since it's pretty good already. On less intense tables, Lt Kestal gets work done. Kinda need to get the balance right in the squad though.

I've had her do decent things in a squad with um... a Phantom and a Bomber...

This is the build I'm looking to use again soon.

TIE Reaper - •Major Vermeil - 51 •Major Vermeil - Veteran of Scarif (49) Tactical Officer (2)

TIE/ag Aggressor - •Lieutenant Kestal - 47 •Lieutenant Kestal - Innate Deadeye (36) Ruthless (1) Dorsal Turret (4) Barrage Rockets (6)

TIE/ph Phantom - •“Echo” - 59 •“Echo” - Slippery Trickster (50) Juke (4) Collision Detector (5)

TIE/sa Bomber - •Major Rhymer - 43 •Major Rhymer - Scimitar Leader (34) Elusive (3) Adv. Proton Torpedoes (6) Total: 200/200

Vermeil and Rhymer lead the suicide charge. A fully modded R2 APT is not to be sniffed at. Just don't joust higher Initiative if it can one punch a Bomber :D

Echo and Kestal circle and poach.
