Sorry if I am completely judging the game wrongly here, but isn't this a re-skin of Descent? Some of the artwork is even taken from there!

No, it's a reskin of Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game where Descent is the new skin. That's why you see the same heroes and enemies. To be more accurate, it is not using Descent as the setting, but shares the setting with Descent - that setting being the realm of Terrinoth in the world of Mennara. Mechanically, this game has very little in common with Descent but there is a ton of thematic overlap.
Alright, awesome! I loved Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game , and am glad that a similar game is coming back!
Yeah as noted already, its just based in the same world using same characters and lore etc....which is very nice.
Oh and it's not a campaign. I found it fun after my first play through.
