Im wanting to run something along the lines if a triple IDS build but for rebels what combo of 3 large Rebel ships would work best. ive been toying with 2 MC75 and 1 MC80 Home one. But im just not happy with what im coming up with.
Rebel version of a Triple ISD build
Ackbar commander with 3x MC80 Command Cruiser. Leaves 44 points for upgrades.
That could give all 3 Electronic countermeasures and leading shots. Home one on 1 of them and stragetic advisor on another.
Could play around with different upgrades, but I like the idea of 3 tanky broadsiders with Ackbar

Posted this before but I developed it when @ovinomanc3r started his tripple Cymoon thesis.
So here is my Garm-lead, Ultimate Repair, liberty list...
398/400, Station assault, Contested Outpost, Solar Corona
MC80 Star Cruiser, MC Exodus, Garm, Projection Experts, XI7, Lando, 142.
MC80 Battle Cruiser, MC Exodus, GTs, LS, XI7, SADviser 129.
MC80 Battle cruiser, MC Exodus, GTs, LS, XI7, Ahsoka, 127.
So if a ship does a repair command it gets 6 repair points for 3 shields. It can be lent another 2 shields from Projection experts from the flagship flying in the middle of the formation. You also have plenty of tokens from Garm and Ahsoka can change their flavour to get you more repair or at least conduct 4 repair point repairs whilst doing another command dial. Ahsoka turns any token into repair on whichever ship is taking the most damage and PE also chips in even if you don't have repair commands plotted.
Apart from the potential 5 shields a turn the battle cruisers have decent flak and GTs to use them and shoot a ship. Or double shoot ships from the front with XI7s meaning you can concentrate on one hull zone of a large target with several shots. Strategic adviser stops you being completely out activated and Lando is a last defence for the flagship which can always slow down a little compared to the other two ships if it feels threatened.

Edited by RevanurThose are some good looking lists. My brother liks running the 3 ISDs but has changed his usual list to lighter ships recently. So I might look at trying these.
Since I initially did not feel like buying multiple copies of the same MC type, I experimented with a list of all the large MC variants.
As each MC type plays quite differently, I built each to their role as much as the points allow. Turns out to be quite fun. The Hmc80 will guard/be the objective, and one of the other MC will escort or push with the third one hidden in raddus ready to pounce.

While probably not competitive, it has been quite fun. Use the speed of the lighter MCs + raddus to pounce carriers. Against other monster trucks be careful of flanks and threaten with a raddus counter-flank. I have yet to explore Dodonna and Garm with them.
Although, considering OP is asking for a rebel counterpart to the 3SD list, probably looking more for a single ship type with similar upgrades that presents a 3x toolbox to face any situation. If doing Ackbar conga with Hmc80s, imo the lead MC should be a 75 to discourage an enemy blocking the line.

Triple Liberty with engine techs is an immensely fun but wildly matchup dependent list. Spring for the Battle Cruisers as the double black flak from three ships can clear most non scatter squadrons.
If small ships are big in your local meta, swap one for a home one with Home One. Auto-accuracy and gunnery teams means you punch down even harder on smalls
Edited by Church14Well so far the one event we have had there was a good mix of ships and lists. And with our next event in about 2 weeks I might just try this out.
I call this list Capital Punishment. It’s built around the concept of keeping your good arcs pointed where you need them to be and to limit the opponent’s ability to use defense tokens.

I like this a lot- if you drop the flag to an ordinance cruiser you can put leading shots on the second armored

I’ve always loved MC80HO’s with ET’s. Something about making them so fast appeals to me.
The Blast doors give them a bit more health so that should keep them in the fight a bit longer.
