I’m at that stage in my gaming, where I have more ideas than I can introduce to my weekly tabletop group. Instead of letting all those ideas go to waste, I want to try and find some like-minded players who might join me in a PBP / PBeM game.

The premise: a game where adventures grow organically from player actions and, in the beginning, from their backstories.

The system: Edge of the Empire, core book only.

The setting: a space station along the outer rim. The last civilized stop before the vast, unexplored space beyond.

The characters: I want the players to come up with interesting reasons why their characters are this far away from civilization. Do you have a bounty on your head? Are you an Imperial deserter? Are you following a treasure map to some elusive riches “out there?” The more you give me to work with in the beginning, the more fun this will be.

For now, I want to see if anyone is interested. If I can get at least 3 players, we can begin hammering out details.

It sounds interesting, but I've never played online before. I might be a nuissance :/

Edit: On they way home I got so excited, I already fleshed out my wannabe character I act as a GM for a while and the group where I am player went inactive for almost a year I have so many PC ideas, which usually get downgraded to NPC in the campaign I play :/

I think I'd be game but I'm a newbie if you're fine with that. And if you are I would suggest maybe discord server to do stuff.

I think a message board would be the most transparent. But as I said, I'm not experienced in this form, so whichever is most convenient for you.

For those that haven't played before, in the beginner game sections there are some pbp games if you want to see the general format. Everyone does it a little different, but generally there's an in-character thread where the action takes place, and an out-of-character thread for rolls and discussion.

Discord also sounds fine. I think most ppl already have acces to that

I would certainly be interested if a spot opens up! Message board or discord would be my vote.

The next step is character creation. Feel free to discuss among yourselves, if any of your PCs have histories together. And please, keep the choices confined to the options in the core book.

For this game, the setting is a system literally on the edge of the galaxy, far from civilization.

Aside from having a single dim, red star, the only thing outsiders know about this system is that there is a space station which is staffed by droids. Either no one knows who originally built it, or no one wants to talk about it.

I need to come up with a Star Wars-sounding name for this system, so suggestions are welcome.

If I’m counting right, we’ve got 6 players and 3 on a waiting list as of now. If anyone on the waiting list is interested, I would like to involve you as bit-part players here and there. On occasions where I don’t have a fully fleshed NPC, I might give you a name, race, and motivation, then let you ad-lib. Any takers?

Are we limited to core book species or just career/specializations? I have the three cores and one sourcebook for extra species if they are allowed.
