The millenium Falcon
Is this the hasbro falcon? It looks great.

Thanks. It's the amt plastic kit 1/58.
The scale is actually meant to be 1:72. It's definitely too small for 1:53. But it looks good on the table and is actually more manageable than the correctly scaled model, so don't let a minor scale discrepancy stop you!

You are thinking about the revell kit. It's this One https://www.scalemates.com/kits/1025230-amt-ertl-8917-return-of-the-jedi-millennium-falcon

No, I know what I'm talking about. I've owned at least one of every commercially available Falcon kit released prior to the Solo movie. I'm kind of unhealthily obsessed with models of the thing. It's one of my two favorite ships in all of science fiction. The AMT kit you have I'd recognize immediately. I've built four of those beasts over the years first when I was 14 and last when I was 35. I'd recognize that kit in an instant. I'm sorry to report that the scale info you have is woefully inaccurate. It's definitely 1:72. The Fine Molds/Revell and Bandai Perfect Grade kits are also 1:72, though all three kits are different lengths compared to each other thanks to the designer's different assumptions.
This can be verified with the math. If the "real" length of the MF is about 113 feet, give or take, divide that by 72 and you get about 18 inches, which is the length of the AMT kit you have.
Interestingly, if you take the 18 inch length and multiply it by 53, as you assume, the result is an 80 foot long Falcon, which does happen to match the length of the "full size" exterior set built for the original trilogy, but that was a scaled down version. The scale-down is most obvious in Empire Strikes Back when we see Chewwie in the cockpit from the outside and he's way too big when compared to scenes of him in the cockpit interior set.
So, you might be right after all... from a certain point of view.
Edited by AlberteseAdded math to back up my wild claims.

Well, forgive me for reading 1:58 as 1:53. My point is that, in fact, your kit is 1:72. There is no possibility I'm mistaken.
But it's not up to me to tell you how to have fun. If you want to insist that it's anything other than 1:72, you enjoy it.
FYI, the only Falcon that is anywhere near the scale you're talking about is the Hasbro Rebel Hero Millennium Falcon, sold as a Walmart exclusive a couple years ago. It's spot on 1:48. Which is only a little bigger than 1:58.
Have fun with it, whatever the real scale! Don't let me poop on your fun by trying to help with understanding scale! It's not the important part.

It's 1/58 according to most sources.
I can't help what "most sources" say. Incorrect information can propagate as easily as actual fact.
But, I'm not going to try to persuade you. Rather, I invite you to do the math yourself. "Most sources" will say the Millennium Falcon is supposed to be 112 to 114 feet long. Split the difference and say 113. Divide that figure by 58, and then by 72 and see which one comes closest to the length of your model. (which is 1.5 feet.)
113/58=?
113/72=?
One of these will yield the correct length of your model. The other will not.
Have fun!
Edited by AlberteseI’ve heard it said that “anytime you try to hold a ruler up to Star Wars you’re gonna be upset”!
They were very inconsistent about sizes from movie to movie and even within the same film. Different books and different movies show different measurements. It’s difficult to ever find the “true” size of something in Star Wars.
That being said I think Albertese is correct on the size the Falcon should be to fit into legion scale. The thing is huge in Legion scale! The best numbers for the Falcon have the saucer about 80’ in Diameter and the whole thing 112’-114’ Long if you include the front mandibles.
So for legion the thing would be about 2 foot long and take up a big chunk of the table! There is at least one toy version out there that’s super close and I’ve seen some great 3D prints in the correct scale but it’s big.
Like Albertese said whatever works on the table is good to go! It might even be better playwise to have a slightly smaller Falcon.
Your Falcon looks great! I’ve been starting to think of Han & Chewie lists myself and the image of them in front of the ship is definitely inspiring!

For what it’s worth, the DeAgostini kit is 1:43 (1:48 interior) as well, though costs a **** of a lot more.
It is a lot easier to know about the size of that falcon: can't be "correct" scale since chewie doesn't get to the cockpit standing in the movie... I also own the same EMT falcon... I love her, but no way it is 1/58... It is very small, place her alongside an 1/56 snow speeder and you'll see... Or just try to imagine the minis in the photograph inside the cockpit... FOUR of them and some spare space... Impossible
