Lost in the Woods

"Play: Choose 2 friendly creatures and 2 enemy creatures. Shuffle each chosen creature into its owner’s deck."

I've read that this effect can be achieved even if the player who plays this action has just 1 or no creatures.. but is it correct?

I mean.. It's not "Choose up to 2 friendly creatures..", so if the player doesn't have at least 2 friendly creatures the effect can't be accomplished.

At least, I accept that a player can play this card, even if he has less than 2 friendly creatures, just to gain the Aember.. but without activating the full effect.

What do you think about it? I'm perplexed..

In a case like this, you do as much as you can. You must choose 2 friendly creatures if there are 2, and you must choose 2 enemy creatures if there are 2, but otherwise you do as much as possible and move on.

Yup. If it said up to 2 you could always choose 0 of yours and frequently would. Leaving that bit out means if you have 1 you have to shuffle it in. If you have 2 ditto. Only if you have 3 or more is there a choice.

It's still an amazing card tho.
