A little hello from Sweden!

By Oathman, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi all

I bought Descent journeys in the dark last week. Me and a friend have tried it out with me as Overlord and he as the Heroes. Must say that this is a really, really good game. We got stuck right a way. It was very easy to get in to the game and learn the rules and all questions that we had could be solved with the FAQ. The only thing that was a bit sad was that it was really hard for the heroes when there only were two of them. We have only tried the first dungeon and he has not jet finished it. I, as an Overlord have to much monsters and traps etc to make life hard for the heroes. But we have a good time and we like the game a lot. The combat solution with the special dice etc is really nice. We are both old roleplayers but since our families grow we donĀ“t have time for the hard core roleplaying anymore and this seems like a good way for us to go. A roleplay light game so to speak. We are going to make our own characters and buy Roads to Legend and take it from there. We are a group that are going to try meet at a regular basis and play this game.

My friends and I have many of the games from FFG and this one is my favorit at the moment. Not suprisingly since it is the newest game... But I think this will be one of the games we play most in the future.

Well may the gods of dice be on youre side (if you are an Overlord, that is...)

Welcome to the boards! On behalf of all consumerist Americans, I would like to thank you for IKEA. gran_risa.gif

Regardless of how many actual people you may have, you should always make sure there are 4 heroes, even if it means someone has to double up on heroes. The game is balanced for 4 heroes and scales very poorly (as you are seeing) with less than 4.

Enjoy!
