Is there a process for getting people sanctioned for hosting events/judging/tournaments/etc? If so, how and where does one go about getting it taken care of?
Official Judges?
I too would like to know the answer to this. I am not sure if FFG has an official judging certification or not but would be interested if there is one.

Nope.
So, what’s required for logging player/deck stats from local events?

Unknown at this time
Seems like there is a great deal we need in rules clarifications and understanding the future of this game.
To run tournaments you... order kits and run tournaments. If other ffg offerings are anything to go by.
Yes, however, it’s implied, if not actually promised directly, that every deck will have a trackable W/L/D, so, obviously someone has to have a way for us to submit that stuff......,

It's not implied. It's definitely going to be a thing. There are placeholders in the Master Vault currently. The ability to track performance for a deck will almost certainly be tied to the Master Vault.
Well, being a realist, it isn't until it is.
This was part of what sold me on the game, I've been sold on other games that didn't deliver.
No announcements about when - this should have been ready at launch, no?
I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, my wallet is on hold.
It’s a work in progress. The game has been out for a month. If you’re waiting to see the system implemented I’d say by the game and enjoy it in the meantime. This is a huge undertaking and I can’t imagine it’s an easy one. I’m guessing it will be out before any major events and at the local level it isn’t needed yet.
This is the “age of discovery” where we are opening and learning decks and just having fun with the game. It’s nigh impossible to judge how a deck should be handicapped right now if at all. The competitive checks and balances will come.
Thats hardly a reason not to play the game from my perspective, but you do you.

They said not all of the functionality would be ready at launch. Initial functionality is deck collection and viewing. They've said several times to stay tuned for organized play details and that it's still a work in progress.

There will be an app to run the events and the phone apps work into it. As per ep. 2 of the FFG KepForge fire side chat.
Guess I'm just getting tired of companies selling me a thing that isn't done yet. I sure wouldn't buy a car that isn't fully assembled and working.
To be fair, the gameplay is wholly uneffected by the inability to track stats on the decks.
Competitively, sure...but you sitting with your buddy playing....are you gonna chain your deck for every win that deck gets when playing for fun?

Feels like you're not picking up what we're putting down.
The game has been out for almost a month. There have been no major events, just friendly casual events at the local store level. Even If the system was in place now there is still no hard data for it to work off of.
There have been three tournaments at my FLGS since the launch of the game. The first didn't even count, it was a launch party and we did "pairings" to ensure everyone played different opponents. The winner of the second tournament didn't even finish in the top half of the third tournament, and the winner of the third tournament had not placed in the top half of the second tournament. A friend of mine finished 3rd place in the second tournament, went out of town and played in a tournament with the same deck and got curb stomped.
So how does the chain check and balance system apply here? It doesn't yet. It can't yet. Even at the store level there isn't enough data to put the handicaps in place.
There is a process, and it takes time to complete. Complaining that it isn't done yet isn't going to speed it up or slow it down.
You said in previous topics that you are enjoying the game, so why rush to end that? Keep enjoying it and have some patience. The system will be in place soon enough.
My problem with that is that it shouldn’t have to be major tournaments to he able to update decks stats....if I run a small 4-6 man tournament at my place on a weekend I should be able to enter those stats too....
I get that. I mean technically you have the means to do that right now. You don’t need to track it through the app. On the flip side if I won a 4-man “tourney” at a buddy’s house and had to take 6 chains on my deck into a 400 person tourney I’d be a little frustrated. When do you start adding them? How many do you add? What’s the basis for decision?
I did the math with my friend I play against the most and we are 10-10 against each other right now. No one deck has pants down beat any other deck among our collections. We haven’t even thought about chains.
There is so much to consider going into this entire process, I’d rather they take their time and get it right. I know I’ll still be around, I enjoy the game and will be playing it for awhile.
I mean...you could just burninate some villages while we wait, dragon-man.
Oh trust me, there are indeed some thatched roof cottages being burninated.
as for tracking it, honestly, I think there should be online/personal/minor/major point values....say online being a 1:25 rate, personal being you and a buddy hanging out playing, those would contribute toward chains at a 1:10 rate, minor event at a 1:4, and major events at a 1:1 ratio. Thing is, at a major event, everyone is likely showing up fairly experienced and playing a well played deck, so, those guys are probably showing up with 10-20 chains already....that’s a nice perk to decks being uniquely tracked....players can’t try to pretend they’re clueless to try to shark others, which I know experienced people wouldn’t fall for....but...not everyone is scalpel sharp...

This appears to be either whining for the sake of whining or trolling.
For local tracking, you and your friends can use https://keyforge-compendium.com . We are using them in our local meta, and its working out okay so far.

I shared the impression that the app would be available upon release, about 2 weeks prior where they announced that the app was in beta test and wouldn't be finished.
Perhaps you are lucky and see no need for the app, but there are others that are feeling its absence.
I use the app regularly. It works just fine. There have not been any events yet that would use the functionality that is not complete.

Actually the official rules state that competitive level tournaments dont use chain at all. Chain is used to balance casual and lgs level play. That is its purpose. So if your playing with your friend and find you have won 5 of the last 6 games you should add some chain so you both have a more interesting and balanced game. Remember handicaps are not used competitively according to the rules.

Ha! I can't believe I missed that. That's a hilarious point.
I think the general understanding is that there is going to be a tracker system that will be put in place for tournament play, and even then it might only apply if a single deck is running away with all the tournaments. It's all speculation at this point. Even I should admit that I am completely guessing and do not know what the power/chain system is going to end up looking like.
