theorycraft: solo ace vs. 1-hull generics

By Quarrel, in X-Wing

Player A: Whisper w/Juke & Darth Vader

Player B: an arbitrary number of Blue Squadron X-wings with 0 shields and 1 hull

1. How many X-wings does Player B need to make this a fair fight?

2. What if Player A has Soontir Fel w/Predator?

3. What if Player A has Fenn Rau w/Predator?

Interesting thought experiment. Is the ace fighting them 1 at a time, in waves of X size, or all at once?

I'm pretty sure it needs to be all at once, 1 at a time would IMO mean the ace should do any number of them.

Follow normal setup rules.

Giving equal skill on both sides, against Whisper I would start with 5. You are basically losing an X-wing a round, two if you aren't careful and have a green token against Vader. However, if you can get 2-3 arcs in a turn on Whisper you can do some damage. Against Soontir 4 seems like a fair fight. He's way more fragile to dice just crapping out on him and dying with one shot. Fenn is kind of in the same boat, I'd start with 4 as well.

It would be difficult challenge regardless, because the X-wings have the advantage of having to just corral one ship. Whisper is probably the most slippery.
