My local game store and csi both show the wave one imperial conversion kit as sold out. I know miniature market and ffg site both have them instock but i have gift cards at both my flgs and csi that i was hoping to use since its not only the happiest time of year (leading up to christmas) but also the most expensive. The general mgr at my flgs said he couldnt get any from alliance either. Does anyone here work for another store and able to check? If they are out do we think there will be a reprint as id heard rumors they may only be a limited run of them since eventually only 2.0 will be out and in theory all 1.0 folks already converted.
Are wave one imperial conversion kit oop?
that is worrisome, as it implies they did a limited run
They probably ran out of the first printing. I wouldn’t worry about it - odds are they’ll be back just like how 1.0 ships would come and go in stock.
With now much unsold 1.0 material is still out there, it’d be pretty foolish of them to stop producing conversion kits this early.

Maybe, but maybe not. Their decision whether or not to reprint won't be based on how much 1.0 product is still out there, but rather on how many conversion kits they think people will buy, which is not necessarily the same thing.
I'm not saying they
won't
do at least one more run of the conversion kits, but personally I'd mentally prepare myself with a backup plan, just in case.

It might help if you were a little more specific as in what region. My local store has plenty of Empire (and other wave 1) conversion kits but if it is on the other side of the continent (or planet) I doubt that information would do you any good.
Also the title is a little confusing, are you implying that since you can't find any Empire kits they are overpowered because they are being sold out?
I mean Empire is doing good in the Wave 1 meta but I doubt that is why you can't find any Empire conversion kits. It is probably that many 1st edition players had 6-8 TIE Fighters so in order to field all of them they would have to get 2 kits instead of one. The wave 1 conversion kits have very little value in terms of competitive play with Hyperspace format an all. The Rebels is the only one that a tournament player would need as it has the falcon (and I am sure you can proxy the Scum Falcon model in a Rebel list). For Empire you only get
early access
to the TIE Striker which comes out next wave. Scum kit doesn't give you anything that the 2nd edition expansions don't give you. So I don't see any buying frenzy of Empire kits because they are on top of the meta.

oop = Out Of Print.
There's lots of conversions left on shelves where I am too, but that doesn't mean that they're still being printed. Also, FFG's website is hardly kept up to date, so I wouldn't be surprised if the conversions are all gone in some places, and stores can't get more.
I'm thinking there will be more print runs because otherwise there would be a lot of outrage, but then again, Hyperspace is mostly newly released stuff, so I wouldn't be surprised if FFG expects new players to not need conversions anymore.

To be clear I am in the east United States. The reason for the topic if you notice there is a ?. It is intended as a question are they out of print? That does not mean do some stores still have them. The question I asked is, if anyone out there works for another board game store and can they check to see if you can still order them from alliance. Or if Alliance still has them as an inventory item or has discontinued them. As I stated in my original post I am aware there are still some places that you can buy the imperial conversion kit. However I have a gift certificate for cool stuff and a gift certificate for my friendly local gaming store. Both of those are telling me They are sold out. As I have gift certificates for both it would be really nice to know if I just need to wait, or if they are being sold out and I have to cough up the additional money during an extremely expensive holiday season.
Edited by ShecianI would be very surpriced if the conversion kits were going to be reprinted. This is a limited run. The conversion kits were done to avoid mass-exodus from existing 1.0 players, and are VERY cheap for what they bring.
FFG are bringing all the 1.0 ships into 2.0 through new 2.0 expansion packs, this is already so in wave 3 (Striker and Z-95), and this is how FFG earns their money.
They do NOT earn their money by you buying an old 2ndhand 1.0 x-wing collection, and then some conversion kits, to field all your ships at 20% of the price.
I have bought 2 of all wave 1 conversion kits and 1 of each wave 2.
Those who did not see the light early will have to pay.
