Building around Dodonna

I have primarily been an empire player since wave 2 as rebels were doing so well and we're so popular, now the pendulum has finally swung, and so I have taken it upon myself to show the rebels still have what it takes. I have come up and played with some pretty good lists, mostly with the less popular rebel ships, and commanders, and I was thinking no one really ever builds around Dodonna, he is in most cases just dropped in as he does something and is the cheapest option, so I thought what if I leverage a list to take full advantage of Dodonna, and this is what I came up with.

Will it be any good idk but it seems fun the two flotillas are there to pass out con fire tokens to the hammerhead, and the mc-30. It's possible for the mc-30 to trigger Dodonna 6 times in one activation, seams fun. Mon karren is there to strip the brace and when damage gets though Dodonna will get two triggers, also garel's honor for more faceups, and a small contingent of bombers, to get some value from, though because contain is a thing I might not get to much out of them, and if I face a fighter heavy list they are just a screen, but they are meant to be flexible that way. I don't really know if it will be good but it looks like fun, and it was fun to see a list built around Dodonna other than just throwing him in because I might get some value out of him.

Sorry to dissapoint, but nope.

With APT the defender is dealt 1 faceup damagecard. With XX-9s, the first two damagecards dealt by the attack are dealt faceup. Crits are resolved before dealing damage. So the APT damagecard is the first damage card dealt to the defender, and is already faceup. Thus, if the defender suffers any more hull damage, only the first one of those cards is dealt faceup, because it is the second of the first two cards dealt with this attack. So the MC-30 will trigger Dodonna 4 times max.

Thanks for pointing out the wording 4 is better than 2 at least, but I could see an argument that they are two separate crit effects the FAQ does not really clear this interaction up. I think I agree with your interpretation of the cards, but I think there is wiggle room that an official ruling would be nice.

Ha, i thought it was in, but yeah, it's just the interaction of both with the standard crit, not with each other... Still, the way it is written in the FAQ follows the same logic of the wording in each single case, so I don't see why it should differ when they are combined. And yes... 4 crits of your choice are still devastating

Agreed an all points.

Gunnery teams & Leading shots on the Battle cruiser. Xi7s and XX9s is a good Doddona combo but your Intel officer and Mon Karren mean spinal are good too but you certainly pay a lot for it.

Ordnance experts on Admonition and drop the turbo laser.

Hammerhead doesnd have the firepower to get 2 face up cards through the shields so go for E-Rax or APTs possibly with OE but that is a bit extravagant. Could go for a TRC90 Jiana's light as an alternative and could put the commander here.

Point savings above could get you Jan & 3 X-Wings to lend braces and Intel to keep moving.

Dangerous Territory is nice with Doddonna bot so is moving rocks around. There are massed bomber fleets out there who will relish precision strike more than you, most wanted would be safer.
