This is a simple analysis of the largest tournaments we could get full Swiss data for since the launch of second edition. The main metric being measured is conversion rate (did this list make the cut or not). There's some additional information about faction breakdowns, number of ships in lists, and bids, but the main point here is every pilot card and upgrade and their performance "so far" moving into Wave 2.

All of this data collection and analysis is only possible because of the fantastic open source community and cooperation of tournament organizers around the world who are so helpful in writing software, organizing events, and helping get list data to resources like listfortress.com where the public can view them.
This data should be taken with a very large grain of salt - sample sizes are low, and correlation != causation. If anything is unclear outside of it, our podcast ( https://carolinakrayts.libsyn.com/krayt-empire-episode-9-the-midnight-stats ) should hopefully clear anything up. Our style isn't for everyone - if you don't care to listen, I'm happy to answer any questions or take whatever feedback.
This is frankly, a pretty basic analysis. Conversion rate (did a list make cut or not?) is extremely binary, and because of that it can blur meaning. This is really analyzing a trend, and we're not sure how often to publish stats like this to make it clear what's really happening in the meta. Something like meta-wing would be ideal for conveying this information, but while a few of us are software developers, none of us are web developers!
