haven't read through it yet, but was going to transition our group after a few more sessions into the Gathering Storm Campaign. They are still Rank 1 though soon will be Rank 2 so they got built up a bit. Assuming they should do fine in the campaign or is it more made for starting characters?

My players also are currently finishing their 1st rank.

Since Gathering Storm is played in 12 sessions of 4 hours, that's 12 XP/advancement minimum, so they'll start their 3rd rank at the end of it (if they survive).

If needed, challenges may be increased easily as suggested in the Tome of Adventure.

Basically the adventure assume the characters are rank one characters, and assume around 3 players. So GMs probably need adjust number of enemy a little bit for people close to rank 2.
