Pearly white MC80, a.k.a wingless liberty

I guess this is a poll of sorts: after the great Maus-ing, this ship appears to have been subsumed into the generic "MC80" label. Should this be represented by yet another Rebel Large or medium, or remain the domain of a custom mini from Mel's (engine-tech'd MC80 mini)? If it's a ship-of-it's own, what should it do?

Is this some particular ship from somewhere?

As I understood it, every Mon Cal warship was unique, so it's fair to subsume a lot of particular designs under the MC80 and MC80-winged variants. From a gameplay perpsective, the Rebels probably don't need another large MC design, they already have the Front-Laser, Side-Laser, and Ordnance variants. Not much left other than one that specialized in abnormal amounts of blue dice, and there's probably not anything in the lore to justify an entire ship-type around that.

Do we really need another mon cal ship? Especially one that is basically the same as the other 2?

I don’t play rebels. But I’d love to see the Liberator class, it’s such an interesting design.

No more moncal ships. Please. Its like the ISD. I can only look at so many space pickles.

I'd like to see a medium sized mon cal ship. Don't forget the rebels have a small base mon cal ship...I think it is the MC30??? 😀

Is this the Twilight Zone or something? Mon Cals are the signature ships of the Rebellion. This could be released in the fashion of the Chimaera ISD. The Home One base plates and maybe a couple of new variants plus a couple of starfighters (U-Wings?).

In canon this is an MC80A with Home One being a modified version. Think this was similar in legends?

I think there's room to make it a medium and stat if such that it has a role unique to itself. Like make it a largely blue dice ship?

Personally I want it. I want it to be a ship that I would take 3 of and have room for a couple other things and squads, or 2 and a large base with some squads.

Keep it in with Mel's, as it looks too similar to the Home One. I know people have mentioned before about the MC40 Light Cruiser. Mon Cal ship with a unique design that would also add another Medium ship for the Rebels.

Had a feeling like that pass over me at the regionals. I mean...Armada is definitely the VASTLY superior game to X-Wing, but X-Wing has so much...variety on the tables. The ships look so different, and factions play so different. And now with Clone Wars-era stuff coming...

I dunno, it'd be cool to see another faction in Armada, just to mix things up a bit on the table.

Because otherwise, yeah, it's just...more ISDs, more Mon Cal pickles, etc. Which is fine, just...a bit boring looking, is all.

(Kind of a downside to the Clone Wars for Armada concept, too - I mean, as badly as I want the Venator and Acclamator...they both really do look quite a lot like the rest of the Imperial ships. At least the Separatists have aesthetically "new and interesting" designs with their Lucrehulk/droid control ship and Munificent-class ships. In all honesty - as dreadful as the New Jedi Order books were in Legends - at least the Vong would be extremely different as a faction to anything else.)

Venator and Acclamator though would add a lot to the fandom of this game, even people who cant afford mass products like me, would at least pick up the Venator. I really want a nice detailed shelf ventator, and I feel the Armada would scale it nicely for that.

Hull 8 Liberty minus "wings" equals hull 7 "wingless" Liberty. Role: medium size Liberty-Home One hybrid. Logical... Lucas-canon... Medium needed...MC-80A!

I think the Acclamator (as an Assault ship) would be a great opportunity for FFG to revise the assault mechanism that currently exists in the game, which sadly so far does not seem well received.

I’ve wanted that model in a Chimaera style pack for the home one. I don’t need it as a c9mpletely new ship

While the Acclamator was used as a front line cruiser in EaW (Empire At War), It always struck me as bogus to use it like that, it could have been a transport for the empire to unload At Ats and entire Imperial Garrisons.... But that is just me. The over all shape I never really liked either, it was to basic.

The first pics in the post are direct screen capture from Return of the Jedi. I guess I do want the ship model in the game officially, no mater if it's a home one variant a la chimaera expansion or what have you.

I get the whole variation thing, but I prefer too many ISD's and MC80's than never seeing them at all (like the latter days of x-wing 1.0). Even back in wave 2 when all you could see were Firesprays and YT-2400's everywhere it kind of bugged me. I'm probably in the minority on this, but Armada for me is fa Star Wars Spaceship source that also happens to be a really fun game.
