Exactly, the normal technicians/engineers are actually guys wearing uniforms different than those of the officers. They use the scanning device for checking the falcon in ANH IIRC.

OK, i was mistaken then.

Thanks for correcting me.

I don't know if anyone here has played frostgrave, but in that game when you claim an objective you roll on a random table and monsters have a chance of spawning at table edges or near the treasure. I think it could be cool to include some of the star wars monsters and less military people this way. Move a squad up to a moisture vaporator and a small squad of Jawas that were trying to dissemble it for parts spawns nearby and opens fire on you for moving in on their salvage operation. Go claim a crate and a Wampa pops out of a hole nearby and tries to run off with a few stormtroopers for dinner. Roll really bad and maybe a rancor is attracted by the noise and moves in from a table edge. These could be a condition card.

We're going to need a Jedi sooner or later. The current version of Luke hadn't made it yet.

I'd like to see "Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight" from RotJ and "Luke Skywalker, Naive Hero" (or perhaps titled something better) for the Luke from AKH. You get to choose the Luke you want but can only have one of course.

FFG seems to be purposefully avoiding hero costumes that were used in Imperial Assault. Not sure why. Maybe it's just coincidence.

Or maybe it's just too early in the life cycle of this game to introduce more of the same character yet.

Yes but Imperial Assault is a different game. Hans' in Endor coat instead of the generic vest Han from IA. Leia's dressed for Endor instead of IA's Hoth. Luke is dressed for ESB, whereas in IA they had two Luke's, one for ANH and ROTJ. it could be a coincidence but if Lando comes out dressed for ROTJ it'll be hard to think they aren't avoiding Imperial Assault costumes.

I'd like to see Kallus with a hatless head option for the Imps (because the hat is terrible)... And yes I know he had a Heel-Face turn but he's got quite a bit of time with the Imps and it's not like there aren't a ridiculous number of Rebels characters for the Alliance anyways...

He's one I could definitely see getting two models: Imperial Kallus, and Sexy-Kallus-as -played-by-season-1-Jaime-Lannister.

I'd like to think this is the case. Im hopeful the game is and stays popular enough to warrant creation of multiple versions of the main heros. I'm sure we'll get anikin Skywalker, Jedi Knight fig for CW. I'm hoping there is also a Darth Vader figure prior to his dip in the lava...

I would like to see C3P0 and R2D2, maybe as a combine operative model. Lando with his Bespin Wing Guards and Lobot would be cool.

Completely off topic but what I'd really like to see is a combined campaign game/rule set for combining Armada and Legion. Basically somehow have the fleet battles affect the ground battles so you could alternate playing Armada then Legion.

I’d avoid lumping in sapient aliens like the Jawas with ā€œmonstersā€...unless I’m playing for the Empire of course.

Forstgrave also did a great thing where you had to walk the objective off the table edge. As you won objectives, your army started shrinking away...

I think a scenario or other card that let other units, including vehicles, contest objectives if they're within range X would be fun.

Interesting, so there was advantage to be had in giving your objectives to the most decimated unit possible.

Yeah that's cool! That could be a fun use for other types of droids than just repair droids as a vehicle upgrade.

Kinda related to the idea of managing army size and effectiveness that I've seen from more traditional wargames is a 'rout' mechanic. The idea being to make you scared of taking too many casualties, and to offset the kind of "player initiative advantage" (activation in this game) can come from loading up on cheap & weak units. The way it works is you can have a sudden death instant loss if you lose too many units entirely. This make folks be more cautious about taking crazy casualties.

In Legion is could be something like instant loss if you lose more than 1/2 or 1/3 of your total activations.

Vader is dressed the same...

The theme also makes sense, since many of the characters wear outfits they wore during field operations (often in command) during the movies, except Luke of course. But still the Bespin/Dagobah one is probably the closest thing to a standard rebel Luke outfit we'll ever see.

Yes. You weakest and/or fastest units will try to run away with a piece of treasure while stronger models try to cover their escape.

or have him be first cross over you play for either side him and hondo

Things that I don’t think have been mentioned yet.

Empire

Dark Troopers

Rebels

Assult Troopers

So I always thought that the Imperial officers in the drab/tan (depending on color settings) uniforms were fleet and the black shirts were commandos, kind of like in Dark Forces but maybe I'm wrong: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_military_uniforms Heck, even RotS has a whole bridge crew wearing a more neutral grey, so I guess they're interchangeable? ,FFG have the same mini painted in green and black in different previews, but it would be nice to get some sculpt variants if that's the sum total of officers we'll get.
LtOicunn

Is the suspiciously fleet-trooper-like helmeted commando in the Specialist pack all we're likely to get of those uniforms? I'd kind of imagined the latter running around in units.

Pilot figures would be cool but they'd be hard to imagine running around a battlefield. Would something like a figure for a downed pilot mini paired with some sort of extraction objective be the sort of thing that could be included in a competitive game or would it imbalance things? Speaking of which, you also have ATAT drivers:
th?id=OIP.8eJTPkt7Wdru9vUWnNDdJgHaHa&pid=15.1&P=0&w=300&h=300

Personally I hope for dewbacks and those longlegged animal, the Empire use on Jedha.

Lando operative with Lobot Sidekick (sidekick: a new upgrade slot).

Not true, they put in the emperor himself. Nothing is hard to imagine "running around a battlefield" now.

Besides we'd always managed to imagine it before Legion came out... Observe the depths of my madness! See also, page 74 of Star Wars Miniatures Battles.

As long as we’re imagining things: probe droids as a non-unique Imperial Operative.
