So I always thought that the Imperial officers in the drab/tan (depending on color settings) uniforms were fleet and the black shirts were commandos, kind of like in Dark Forces but maybe I'm wrong: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_military_uniforms Heck, even RotS has a whole bridge crew wearing a more neutral grey, so I guess they're interchangeable? ,FFG have the same mini painted in green and black in different previews, but it would be nice to get some sculpt variants if that's the sum total of officers we'll get.

Is the suspiciously fleet-trooper-like helmeted commando in the Specialist pack all we're likely to get of those uniforms? I'd kind of imagined the latter running around in units.

Pilot figures would be cool but they'd be hard to imagine running around a battlefield. Would something like a figure for a downed pilot mini paired with some sort of extraction objective be the sort of thing that could be included in a competitive game or would it imbalance things? Speaking of which, you also have ATAT drivers:

It's more a question of the lighting in the scene (excluding the black uniforms, which I believe are stormtrooper and navy trooper uniforms).

The actual navy uniforms (also used for Veers) were cut from East German army cloth, as it was sold in droves in the late seventies/early eighties. It's actually an olive-grey colour but can look light or dark grey, even brown, depending on local light sources. I have an East German army coat in my closet. Great material. Lasts an age.

Thanks, that explains it. So what I thought were differences in rank or posting were the equivalent of the light grey and blue grey Ties!

My understanding:

Black - Stormtrooper Corps

Grey/Olive - Navy

Green- Army (though maybe no difference see verry which was def green and Tagge which was same as everyone else)

White Jacket - Imperial Security Bureau

With Veers, it's just a question of the lighting. Take a look at his first scene where he's alongside Ozzel and Piett. Their uniform colour is exactly the same.

Yeah but in the at-at its much brighter, I mean the fabric, not the shot.

This. If you pause ESB and look carefully at him in the AT-AT, he's wearing green. But the lighting is strange and it looks grey enough that Kenner produced the first action figure of him in grey and the rest of his merchandising is a history of color confusion.

Sounds like the Blue vs Brown coat on Hoth Han.

Empire also used much more coloured lighting than Star Wars or Jedi , so the colours of the cloth can appear to be very different, based on the set, lighting conditions, and filters. But Veers is absolutely wearing the same olive-grey as Piett etc.

I guess FFG will stick with matched releases for now...

Lower tier force users as operatives or special forces maybe, so Ghost Crew and Inquisitors.

Droids - C3 and R2, plus probe droids

Corps Trooper variety - Hoth Troopers, and one of Fleet/Mud/Range/Shore Troopers. (That's gonna be a problem - there's not the same variety of rebel trooper types - while Rebels have no shortage of heroes to rely on!)

Light vehicles - a light speeder "technical" for rebels, and the AT-PT or AT-DP

Heavy Artillery - the AT-DT from Solo, and Hoth Turrets.

I do like the idea of random monsters, maybe we'll see that with another objectives pack?
