Rey...

yea you loved the Rey/BB8 combo in 1.0 and you did well with it if I do recall. Rey was one of my favorites as well. If I wasn't flying a-wings, I was flying Rey. I'm on board with the Rey/dancing Poe.

I did "okay" with it locally. I scrubbed out at my first big event with it, the Chicago Regional this year, having overprepared for the Gunboat meta...and then promptly hit exactly one gunboat the whole swiss in a room full of gunboats! I did do pretty well with BB-8 Poe + 3 rookies, though.

REDIRECT!

If I can't fit it tho I can't fit it! I think if your taking dancing Poe you take it for sure, no questions asked. but I also think if I need 2 points it's the first to go!

I mean I bought four of those slippery A-WINGS I am definitely trying a list w/2 of them and a Falcon for sure. This looks good as a starter thanks.

I bought 5. I got a 5 A-wing list to try. :) and well... I just love a-wings.

Right now every list of mine has at least 1 A-wing....

Rey Poe

Rey Tallie L'ulo

Poe Tallie Ello

Tallie L'Ulo, Ello, Nein

Han Poe L'ulo. (maybe tallie?)

Perhaps going to Tallie to get the title and swapping crack for heroic?

Do we think a double tapping bomber, maybe Edon to deal with aces, would be a better partner for Rey?

I wouldn't think so. Those ships could die so very fast.

If it tests well over Christmas break Rey Poe is a very strong contender for Phoenix Open for me. I'm pretty torn on what to fly for Phoenix, especially with point drop any day.

no way, crack is way better than Heroic any day of the week. Just don't get shot! :)

I have at least 1 in every one of my lists as well, I really prefer Tallie’s ability over L’ulo but that because if you get it to trigger enough it makes those 1 agility ships even stronger (especially Rey with Finn) I know why everyone loved L’ulo but I like Tallie more personally.

I will be definitely trying 2 A-WING & Rey List this weekend. Tallie/L’ulo

Crap . Never assume gender! Apologies!

Same 😅

Sadly, there is no missile slot for the resistance version of the Falcon. Any kind of missile would be amazing on a lower initiative Falcon pilot with the Rose/Finn coombo.

Freelance slicer sort of works, but you would have to use it the following round.

I think Tallie is a better value, and her ability is solid. but I look at bullseye abilities as bonus. I love Crack and Prockets, and I take them because if I get them off, amazing (and my locals have told me I seem to have a knack for getting them lined up) but at the very least it makes the opposing forces fly differently to attempt to avoid. I flew Jake vs Boba and won because Boba flew scared of ending up in my bullseye to get proceketed. it was a long game of dancing back and forth, and against a super good player (won 2 regionals). It taught me that the bullseye is both offensive and defensive.

So I said that to say this. I don't think Tallie's ability is going to get people to fly differently to avoid the bullseye (unless you got prockets on her, which I typically do!) but what she is good at is a solid i5 A-wing that is a fantastic value at 35 points! I figure you may trigger her ability 2-3 times a game on average. I actually want to note book this over the next few months to see for sure.

Both ships are going to fly very differently and I'm pretty excited. L'uLo is this crazy flanker who you keep out of the fight until it's time to strike. Tallie your going to want to get into the thick of things to line up the bullseye and harass. Honestly I'm not sure how either will pair well with Rey... but I'm still gonna do it!!!

Rey flies at them, refusing to be ignored, and...dies. But, does it take long enough for these two to do work?

So if your goal is to proc her ability, don’t bring prockets? That’s an interesting dynamic to play with.

I like using the bullseye abilities and Proton Rockets are a favorite on the A-WING; I figure I will run L'ulo/Tallie with Rey equipped with Prockets. I like your idea of taking notes to see how many rounds/plus ~ minus engagment Tallie procs I may do that the same. Then I may actually figure out if it a good fit.

no I'd still bring prockets if I can fit them! first, if you line up the prockets, (and you should be able to at i5) then you get her ability AND prockets. then once prockets are spent you have here ability when you line it up.

Since I haven't gotten a lot of 2e games in yet, I'm really curious: Are Prockets worth it over Clusters? I feel like 4 chances for 3-dice shots feels better than a single attack at 5, but if the A-Wings die too fast, maybe not? I'd definitely take Prockets on a cheap Arvel, but I feel like Tallie wants something more... but what do I know? The lock requirement may be too restrictive I guess (except on Jake; I couldn't imagine anything but clusters on him, but I could be wrong).

Concussion missiles are my favourite because you expose a damage card right away and you have three charges

Here is my take on Prockets, and I use them a lot.

Prockets are 7 points, which is 3 points too many for a single charge constrained to the bullseye arc. Especially when compared to other ordnance.

BUT they are also the only missile upgrade that can be fired using a focus token.

A-wings die if they are tokenless

Therefore the best missile for an A-wing is a procket.

it might be different with i5 A-wings that can dodge arcs. But typically if I'm taking a Rebel i3 A-wing with a cluster missile and take a lock, there is a good chance it is gonna get fired upon and explode.

Even in first edition I favored prockets over all other missiles on a-wings just so I could have a token or two to stay alive.

on RZ2's the procket gets even more fun as adv. optics works with prockets. As does Marksmanship, but I wouldn't use it.

As for Arvel vs Tallie... Tallie is cheaper than Arvel lol

but still, A-wings die way too fast to use all the charges unless you can fly them perfectly. the RZ2 may have the right tools to be effective, but only time will tell.

Just did the math.

Firing a procket on a 3 agiilty ship with focus will net you on average 1.9 hits. if you have adv. optics 2.2 hits

Firing a 4 die rocket with only lock on a 3 agility ship that has a focus will net you 1.1 hits.

3 die rocket drops that down to .68.

Procket is pretty good it seems as you get effectively 2.5 3 die attacks in 1 shot.

Of the new ones? I'm still on the fence. Honestly, I'm not sure how much fun I will have with 5 awings again after playing them with snap and crackshot back then. What was it, 2,5 years ago?

By now my playtime is rarer and I'm less inclined to play without a chance all day

yea 5 RZ-2s, and I own 8 RZ1's.

5 RZ2's is not a good list, but it will be a fun list!

They are probably the only Tragedy simulator carriers in Hyperspace, might be handy (take this, Iden).

On the other hand, I hate that card, hoped it would never made it into 2.0

I'm betting on a point rise come January.

So headsimming, mathing and a look at the hyperspace potential meta means there's a chance that it's not going to only fun, but also good. I'm trying to test on vassal as much as possible before making that investment, but Adv Optics and a rear arc means constant 2-3 dice pressure from 5 different sources. Not many things can weather that in the long run or avoid enough arcs to last. Adv Optics should be STAPLED to every RZ2 Awing.

Anyway, Rey...

I personally don't have any desire to play her...as you can see other ships in the Resistance have my attention. At least the discussion of gunner vs pilot has me thinking...

Interesting...I STAPLE homing to them and leave optics alone. (Before someone "porque no Los dos"s me, proque es demasiado Caro!). With the rear arc, and patience, and refined ggyrostabilizers, grabbing locks isn't too hard.
