Rules Reference update??

By drail14me, in Star Wars: Armada

Does the online Rules Reference dated 14 June 2018 actually have any updates or changes from the Rules Reference that came printed in my original core set? I've skimmed through the online copy and didn't notice any highlighted changes.

I'm not sure that document has changes but you need to keep the FAQ handy for any errata/rules changes.

At some point (possibly June) the RRG was updated to incorporate some of the stuff that's in the FAQ (like the range across hullzones thing)

I happened to have my original RR out and had some time to spare; these are the changes I noticed (I may have missed some):

Quote

Page 2, Attack, Declare Additional Squadron Target:

  • Treat each repetition of steps 2 through 6 as a new attack for the purposes of resolving card effects.

Page 4, Commands

  • A ship can resolve a command and choose not to produce its effect. It still counts as resolving that command, such as for the purpose of triggering upgrade cards.

Page 6, Fleet Building

  • A ship cannot equip more than one copy of the same upgrade card.

Page 7, Line of Sight

  • If line of sight or attack range is traced through a hull zone on the defender that is not the defending hull zone, the attacker does not have line of sight and must choose another target.

Page 7, Measuring Firing Arc and Range

  • When measuring attack range for a ship, ignore any portion of the defender that is outside the attacking hull zone’s firing arc, even if that portion is at a closer range.
  • If attack range is measured through a hull zone on the defender that is not the defending hull zone, the attacker does not have line of sight and must choose another target.

Page 8, Overlapping

  • He can place those squadrons in any order, but he cannot place them outside the play area.

Page 10, Shields

  • When a ship spends, loses, or recovers shields, rotate the shield dial to indicate the shields remaining in that hull zone.

Page 11, Size Class

  • Small ships use the 43mm x 71mm base, medium ships use the 63mm x 102mm base, and large ships use the 77.5mm x 129mm base.

Mostly a few errata things, and then the stuff about measuring range.
