With 4 units from Rogue One coming what do you think the chances are that we'll get Cassian and K2SO as Rebel Operatives? I really want that droid.
Chances for Cassian and K2SO
I'd say Cassian for sure, since he's getting a show. If the show doesn't have K2SO, there will be rioting, so he's possible. Maybe as a special forces pair, as opposed to operatives. Personally, I want Chirrut

Cassian and k2so?
Chirrut and baze?
Would be good.
Just a bit harder to imagine the imperial equivalent.
Rebels is potentially a more balanced source to keep the factions symetrical.

Maybe they need to stop being so symmetrical and each take on their own identity a bit more?
They’ve started to break the mold with the last characters.
Inquisitors
100% agree with this. Definitely need some inquisitors.
i could see the Grand Inquisitor as an operative and then a group of 5th and 6th brother with 7th sister as a special or support unit
as a Rebel counter part Cassian as operative and K2SO +Baze+Chirrut

this, 1000 times this. let each side feel different and unique, not like the mirror image.

I mean, that’s all well and good but adjacent releases also need to be similar enough to come packaged with the same upgrades.
I think they’ve done more than enough to give the factions unique identities. Even Veers/Leia have very different play styles and army composition.

Sadly so far we have only seen similiar selection types on both sides (meaning commander, operative, corps, sepce-ops etc), although it would be much more thematic for rebels to be spec-ops focused and the empire to have more heavy stuff. Idk how this would have to be sorted with the upgrade cards, but I figure non-specific upgrades are not bound to one selection type and they don't need to be aviable for both sides within the SAME WAVE if they are aviable for both overall. (Upgrade could come for the empire in wave X and for the rebellion in wave Y).

I think when we have more armies, they could add a unique army composition for each. Perhaps more troops and heavies for empire, more special and operatives for rebels, even more heavies and support for republic, even more troops and support for CIS...
Sounds nice on my mind
In terms of current FFG's current production pipeline I would put Cassian at 50/50 and K2SO as a named character at 0%. But we could get either character as unnamed or generic as well like with the two aliens from Rogue One or Orrimaarko. That really works well for K2SO because you don't have to pay an actor royalties for using his appearance. I do hope some vehicles are following the Krennic and Death Troopers release, like the tank from Rogue One.

Well empire gets k-2s0, but with out all the fun bits.
Maybe inquisitiors as Chirrut and Bazes counterpart ?
Edited by FlyingAnchorsI'd be fine if they released Cassian, K2, Chirrut, and Baze in a single pack as a special forces squad.
No need to perfectly mirror with Empire, just make Shoretroopers or something as the simultaneous release with that Rebel pack.
It makes more sense for the Empire to be more reliant on formal corps units and the Rebels to have more of the unique individuals.
Triple-0 , some ISP Agents, Champion of the Royal Guard. I think there are some more possible Operatives on the Imperial Side

They already are, to a very large degree.

I was thinking the same thing but went one step further. Make Cassian an Operative and toss Bodie into the unit in his place. They can be a 4 figure special forces unit but each of them comes as a personnel upgrade as well that can be added to another unit.
Empire could possibly do the same with Inferno squad. The Operative could just be another if the ESB bounty hunters.
I see Shoretroopers being released to parallel the eventual Hoth Rebel Troopers.
Release the rogue one rebel characters along with that rogue one tank for the empire.
On a long enough timeline they'll release everything. Given what FFG and other minis license holders have done, a good guess is about 4 years till the gaps are very few indeed. There's more stuff to make minis of than their used to be, but there's also better tools available to manufacturers.
