Organization my collection for battle????

By drail14me, in Star Wars: Armada

I've been collecting Armada ships for a while because they looked cool on my Star Wars shelf. I'm finally getting them off the shelf an organized to play. I'm putting cards into a 3-ring binder and tokens and dials into a Plano box. My ships will stay on the display shelf until needed for a fleet. I'll find some sort of case to transport the ships in soon, probably a Feldherr.

From X-Wing, I know FFG provides PLENTY of tokens of which most of them I don't need. So, tips on organizing tokens and dials? How many of each do I actually need to have handy for any given game?

Command Dials

Speed Dials

Defense Tokens

Command Tokens

Victory Tokens

Objective Tokens

Ship ID Tokens

Main Ship ID Tokens

Main Flagship ID Tokens

Flagship ID Tokens

Squadron Tokens

A lot of what you need will depend on the fleet your are flying, but below I'll give a guideline.

Command Dials: 1 for each command value of each ship you fly. If you have about 10, that would be more than enough.

Speed Dials: 1 for each ship in the fleet you're flying. If you have 7, that will cover it unless you have very large number of small ships in your fleet.

Defense Tokens: You'll need the right mix for your fleet. Probably 10 braces, 12 redirects, 10 evades, probably 5 contains, and 8 scatters. Its likely an overestimate, but that will handle pretty much every possible fleet anyone could bring.

Command Tokens: One of each type per ship in your fleet. So about 7 of each type would cover everything for sure.

Victory Tokens and Objective Tokens: Really depends on your objectives. 10ish of each is probably fine.

Ship ID tokens: 7 or so will be more than enough, 1 for each ship in your fleet, basically.

Flagship tokens: 1 matching set will do it.

ID tokens: 1 for each ship and squadron in your fleet, just in case you're in a mirror match and don't want to mix up your collection with your opponent's.

Awesome! Exactly what I was needing to know! Thanks Robert!

I keep quite a few extra dials, tokens, etc. You never know when a friend will need to borrow some, you want to play a giant game, or you lose/break stuff.

Victory tokens is low... play superior positions or sensor net... I’ve wound up with more than 20...

Other than that I almost completely agree... although I tend to keep more around because I hate being out.
