Avengers 4 Endgame

Three questions

1. If younger Nebula came back using her last Pym Particle, how did she bring Thanos Flagship to present day?

2. Does Loki have the Tesseract? He fled with it.

3. What Hammer will Thor use during Ragnarök if our Thor took Mjolnir?

1. Will have to watch it again!

2. Yes in a different timeline if my understanding of their time travel science is correct.

3. Cap went back in time at the end with Mjolnir so he put it back at the spot where Thor took it.

I am still emotionally drained from this film and I watched it yesterday! I don't think I can handle watching GoT when I get home tonight....

I believe they are trying to both use the "timeline changes don't matter because you create multiple universes" idea and the "we have to put the stones (and mjolnir) back because our timeline will get messed up" idea at the same time and that feels a bit incongruous.

Especially when you consider some things weren't put back- like Gamora and Thanos and all of his army -unless Tony actually put those bits back in their own time instead of dusting them (though we didn't see Gamora dusted).

Nebula seems to have some weird quantum entanglement nuttiness going on between the two different ones and I'm pretty sure that allows a handwave of whatever weirdness exists for her.

Maybe they'll use this time-travel splitting nonsense to prop up "what-if" scenarios. For instance, we know a Loki tv series is coming to Dinsey+. What if it's about this version of Loki with the Tesseract.

Probably from spending time in a Tardis.. wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey...time- stuff.

:D

All I gotta say is after this third episode of GoT and Endgame, Lucasfilm better up their game. Bar got raised.

To be fair they started that ball rolling with Star Wars A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. 😊

and we got a mixed bag with Last Jedi...(not trying to restart the argument, just saying...)

IIRC it had something to do with the brain/computer she had, they kept referring to the "network" she was on.. So maybe her future self, tied in its network to her older self??

Makes you wonder how shes doing now... the ship isnt doing so great right now...is she connected to some kind of server on the ship, or some cosmic version of "the cloud"?

Saw it the other day, thought it was great and tied up everything about as well as we could have hoped for, although I feel Infinity War was probably a fraction better. Maybe need to see it again to be sure. Will be interesting to find out in time what was cut out to keep down the runtime.

Three unanswered questions I have after seeing it:

1) Did Wong get his Tuna Melt?

2) Did Stark remember to invite Wong to his wedding?

3) Why is Gamora?

The conclusions to Tony and Cap's story arcs was perfect. The selfish playboy delivers the ultimate sacrifice, after finally achieving the life he'd always wanted; and the man who always sacrificed everything for others finally learnt to do something for himself.

And man, that 'Avengers Assemble' bit. Just epic. I'll hand it to the Russos; they know how to transfer those epic splash pages from comics onto the big screen effectively.

Also liked the very ST:6 touch in the credits with the main casts' signatures.

I think the point the Ancient One made is that taking the Stone would break HER timeline, and that's why they had to put them back. The problem was Old Man Rogers turning up at the end makes it clear they DID change their own timeline, and that's where the entire conceit falls apart. And no, STEVE DIDN'T TIME TRAVEL BACK. If he had, he would have popped out of the machine like they did every other time when returning to the present, NOT been spotted on a park bench hundreds of feet away.

I'm also disappointed with how they handled Black Widow, considering she broke the conditions for claiming the Soul Stone. In Infinity War Red Skull told Thanos he had to sacrifice something he loved to get the Stone. Nat didn't do that. She sacrificed HERSELF to PROTECT something she loved. That should have been a prophecy twist. Instead they ignored that part and just went with the "Soul for a Soul" (in which case, Steve SHOULD have been able to bring her back by returning the Stone -- A soul for a soul).

That is weird that Steve was there, now that you mention it. I guess you don’t have to limit it to just branches or loops. It could cause incompatible histories to branch while compatible ones loop.

There was apparently an official interview somewhere that answered the Nebula problem (I had the same question): between Thanos and Maw's genius and wizardry they were able to create their own Pym Particles.

Which implies they'd be able to get up to all kinds of trouble and spawn any number of alternate timelines. If we take the Ancient One saying she couldn't see beyond her own death as something that would apply to Strange, too, that would mean a) he was only able to view the real timeline because he was unsnapped (meaning, aside from it being a movie where of course the good guys win, as soon as Strange got dusted we would have known he - and in theory everyone else - was coming back), and b) the 14,000,000,604 other possible outcomes he views may actually be alternate timelines in which he survives the snap (and since the snap is 50/50 there would be at least 28,000,001,210 total timelines).

The problem is Steve staying in the past CAN'T be compatible or a stable time loop. The scene with him and Peggy dancing appears to be set in the 1940s/early 1950s based on the cars. However there's plenty of other material this would directly contradict. For one, Peggy had an entirely different family between the first Captain America and when Steve woke up in the present day. That couldn't have happened had she been with Steve all that time (I mean I'd screw over causality for Hayley Atwell, too, but that's neither here nor there).

But Clint DID loose something he loved, Nat was pretty much his "work Wife" the one good friend that knew everything about him...

Nat also lost something she loved too, Clints family and her Avenger family. She sacrificed never seeing them.

That's REALLY stretching.

With the stones destroyed, what happens to Red Skull?

Did you guys catch Joe Russo, Ken Jeong and Howard the Duck’s cameos?

That’s what I’ve been saying!

But we know his views on Avengers Ice Cream !

That may be a way she could be returned to 'life'..

Some great answers from Joe Russo.

Questions are translated from Chinese that’s why the syntax is a little off.

It was Ebony Maw and possibly Thanos who reversed engineered Nebula’s last Pym Particle.
