Asteroid-themed mats are quite "busy", not to mention having the six obstacles almost camouflaged on the mat. These old eyes would have a problem figuring out where the real ones lay on the mat!

While there is something nostalgically appealing about the asteroid field, it's a terrible choice for a star-map.

We'll likely get orbital views of a few planets. Probably Naboo (maybe with a DCS in the background as well), maybe Coruscant, maybe Geonosis (bonus points if the beginning of a peace moon is there). But not something so cluttered.

It'd be so awesome to finally have a game mat featuring a proper battle between capital ships. If they did Scariff's planetary shield thing, I'd prefer it also featured the fleets that fought over it. Though since these mats are meant to be interchangeable with Armada I can understand why they might not do that. I still think it'd look cool in Armada as well, but I guess it makes a bit of sense to not print game mats with what might be game pieces on them.

Battle of Coruscant. Would go nice with a pure stars mat for a 6x3 coverage for future Epic formats and usuable for, hopefully, future Clone Wars Armada expansions.

Heck would be nice for any era really.

Perspective maps of Geonosis (core ships) and Utapau (sinkholes) would probably be cool.

Battle of Geonosis close up like the Hoth map. I know it gets bad rep but I liked it.

Along with shield gate.

I just really really want to emphasize how much I agree. I've wanted this star map since Rogue One came out.

Coruscant would be super baller.

My experience is that I only want to play Starfield. Everything else is way too busy, especially maps with asteroids or nebulas etc. I once played on a map that was essentially that Hubble images of galaxies, and it was a feeling like playing on a field someone puked on. You don't see the obstacles, and your eyes are constantly distracted.
