Kestal's ability reads:

"While you perform an attack, after the defender rolls defense dice, you may spend 1 focus token to cancel all of the defender's blank / focus results."

Juke reads:

"While you perform an attack, if you are evading, you may change 1 of the defender's Evade results to a Focus result."

My question is can I use Juke to change an evade to a focus, and then trigger Kestal's ability to cancel that focus? To be it boils down to Kestal's timing. Does it have to be immediately after the defender rolls dice and before modifications? Does it have to be in the modification step and thus I can choose which triggers first? Or does it have to be during the attack but just some time after the roll, in which case I could even wait until post-mod step?

I don't think this works, because Juke is a dice mod, and the trigger for Kestal's ability is "after the defender rolls defense dice." Once you've used Juke to modify the defense dice, the timing window for "after the defender rolls defense dice" has passed.

Correct. Kestal *isn't* a dice mod, so she takes place exactly when she says, which is between the defender rolling their dice, and the attacker modifying them.

So what you COULD do, is Kestal away all the non-evade results, then Juke one remaining evade into a focus... turning (for example) evade-focus-blank, into just one focus.

This got me thinking. I need a focus anyway to use Kestal's ability, and I can't think of a way to get an evade (for Juke) and focus on him.
