My latest. I think I’m still going to touch it up a bit, but it’s ready for the table as is.
Friend of mine was not happy with his 7B Mace having his astromech in the wrong place, so he picked up Mel's and handed it to me. Really tricky model and scheme to paint, the detail and contrast in the model is so sharp. Happy with how it turned out. So was he, so he gave me another to paint up...
He since added a touch of gold to Mace, hard to spot the difference but felt like adding a disclaimer on that detail
Love those paint jobs! The white one evokes the work of Piet Mondrian.

How did you do this? Hot scalpel? I want to do it but I'm not totally sure how.
Just used a veryyy sharp and thin knife. Chopped off the head and then used a diamond file to file away a bit of the middle. Super easy.

I did it too. It's easier than it looks, just be sure your blade is really sharp. I used medical bisturi.
I updated my Jedi with another aethersprite and fresh dials for everyone!

Yeah it’s totally over the top. Yet it looks really nice on the table.

I had to look at fact up... (reportedly, if he was he wasn't open about it.) What I thought was curious was something I found out while looking through the wiki page. Seems he really didn't like Star Wars or the attention it brought him from people who only knew him from the trilogy.... I had images of Palpatine "ironic" memes.

Citadel Caliban Green turned to a nearly-wash with thinner on a grey or white primer. Then you can dark it with black wash or light it dry brushing or layering, to your taste.
