Let's all chat about this on BGG and see if it gets Descent into the hotness list again because that's something FFG might notice and consider making more (yeah I know sales will shout louder).
Looks like FFG is getting us a new Road to Legend campaign

Perhaps I am just "lucky" then. I definitely paid for it - I want to support the app as much as possible so they keep releasing content. Paying for it more than once is stretching the friendship, though.
Well i do have the two expansions required and now ordered Belthir off the back of this release - so hopefully others will also buy expansion content to play it which will boost sales and FFG will do well from it. They need to keep their stock levels up though.
Maybe we will get an undead campaign or trollfens one later as well. A Bilehall campaign would be awesome.

On the contrary the old players all own LoR and LotW, so that means that there is not a lot of sales to be expected here for FFG.
Looks like a real Christmas gift to me and to all the veterans.
Well done FFG.
I think this really depends on how much RtL is appealing to old Descent players verses how much it's created it's own new following. If the reality is this new game is being bought by a new demographic that doesn't already have it all: 1: a new campaign would sell old expansions. 2: a MoB+CtR release would be less optimal because of the lack of heroes and the weird classes...
barnacles, too late to add Lair of the Wyrm to my Christmas list!
Tried it and so far, the new campaign is really fun. I like it.
I found the first mission to be a bit hard though. At some point, my characters were completely exhausted, had 1 or 2 hp left, accumulated 2 or 3 knockouts and the app was still asking me to setup new sections of the scenario (it is a long quest and it plays a few tricks on you). My team's synergy was pretty good (but perhaps not optimal) since i've had a few glorious moments where monsters were pushed back into the shadow.
Tough beat in the end, but heroes always bounce back, right?
Play the new campaign. You'll enjoy it š
Edited by ShirysReal THANK YOU to the team that make it real.
Hope to get more of the trollfence, Ravens, H&M or whatever :) that makes the game live again.

I don't have the impression at least thus far that FFG expects you to pay more than once. Yes the Kindle has tended to have some bugs after updates but that's made me inclined to glare at amazon over their proprietary nonsense as opposed to blaming FFG. I'm just glad FFG is willing to support the kindle, not everybody does.
Yayyy! Itās a bit of a surprise at this point but a very welcome one. I know thereās always a lot of talk from people wanting new physical content whenever a new RTL expansion is dropped, but Iām pretty satisfied the huge amount of stuff that already exists and would really just love to have more RTL campaigns like this. Conversion of all the old āanalogā campaign books to be playable on the app would be a amazzzing.

I think a MoR/MoB/CtR combined "spooky" campaign would be awesome.
A Trollfens/LotW combined campaign with a rivalry or alliance between Bol'Goreth and Valyndra would be cool, too.
There's still a ton this game has to offer, even without more physical content, in my opinion (though, obviously a new box would be great as well).

That work is in progress for the original The Shadow Rune campaign to run on Valkyrie - check out this thread . It's slowed down a bit due to some issues with Valkyrie, but most of them are resolved or will be with the next major release early next year, so hopefully we'll be able to get this campaign finished
Once that's done maybe some of the others can follow
Holy **it I'm going bananas here!!! š®
It's cool that it is free, but I hope it would cost something. Just to get hopes up for them to make more!
delffi, on it being free, I guess FFG/Asmodee take the approach that free app content should drive physical product sales. However, I feel the same as you - I am happy to pay for app content, if it increases the likelihood that we will get more app content.
I haven't looked at the new maps yet, but I am happy that LotW is being used. I like the theme. I think the tile artwork is beautiful in that expansion- it may not be unique, but it added some missing elements to the base set. I really like the atmosphere I get from looking at those tiles.

Seems that new campaigns are free - some using expansions, new adventures are charged, seems a wise balance - adding free content makes the core app more appealing and drives game sales, saving the charged content for adventures and maybe bigger releases is good for having the appeal to potential new players that it's not a cash grab type of game - think FFG have got this balance just right and it's good for the games.
let's hope the App can boost sales and then they will add new physical content
What if they would release a physical (prefer big) box within it a campaign for players vs overlord but also convert this campaign to the RtL app for co-op? (Like some people did with The Shadow Rune)..
That would be a true blow for FFG sales, both sides would be happy (some double happy). That would be a very interesting move....
so Fantasy Flight Games, what would you say? Give it a try!
It could be a monster box, a hero box, or something like that
I am so hyped about the new campaign. I do not want more physical content to be honest, it is already hard to manage all the tiles and I have not even gotten anyone to play MoB/CtR despite the fact I love the theme and tiles.
Great article on the design process: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/12/28/stoking-the-fire/
Game design is a big project- I know from my own Terrinoth dabblings (especially when you get sidetracked into going through your first edition kit - although that was always part of the plan it wasn't meant to be my current focus - but it did lead to some epic ideas and an awesome 'gamescape' diorama photoshoot that has a bit of the 'building a world/story' feel of the design of the Genesys core rule book which is going to look great used with some of my player/GM resources for Genesys.) Need to refocus now and finish the works in progress (part of getting sidetracked was practical though- realised some stuff is missing still packed from a house move- I may need to find this to progress!), if I have to put things on hold there's plenty to get on with including some playtesting and advice for other fan content designers.
Made me realise how glad I am I kept my first edition content though - there's some very nice kit to re-purpose for 2e and tabletop RPG, and some model sculpt variances that could be useful - even wondering if a bit of 'green stuff' and surgical trickery / creative work could make a 2e medusa into a merfolk (mermaid/merman) using the 1e ones for the medusae. I think I like the 1e medusae best and the 2e ones look like they maybe want to be something else, haven't thought about this enough to know if it would work yet, but like the idea of adding some merfolk to my pieces.
