If the rumors staTed in another thread are true. (I forget who said it) Wave 8 is 3 weeks into play testing.

(...)

The Outer Rim Job podcast hosts said this in episode 8 of their show.

I shared it in the other thread.

Thank you for always being a positive force @Crabbok

Unless we see some attention for armada in the next week with a cool announcement claiming they are going to bring in some new ships with the SSD, its dead. I wanna be positive, but the only thing i can say positivly is without news, content, and something to look forward to that is affordable, this game is dead. Not everyone can afford a 200 dollar SSD.

lol, why specifically the next week?

Armada news comes exactly 8 days from now, the game is dead?

You could always go in on one with your a friend or two that's what I'm doing.

Didn't you pay attention in your freshman gamiology class? After 7 days without nutritious articles for the fan base, a game must medically be declared dead. It's science.

Why do people think this thread is a positive contribution to the community? It almost reads tongue-in-cheek. I'm not saying Crabbok has any axes to grind after being muted by FFG and given nothing to talk about or hype, but this really felt like one one of those classically Southern backhanded compliments.

It's about as positive as someone saying "Your dad's a deadbeat who ran off, but he's surely coming back next year and he really loves you kids and he'll treat you right when he comes back!" is a positive comment about the dad's paternal character.

Let me translate for you.

" Positive " in Game of Forum: Armada actually translates into " He didn't bash The Last Jedi ".

On a more serious note though. I think it can be perceived as both and meant as both simultaneously :)

Seriously? Crabbok is a positive person. He's rooting for this game, and trying to post a hopeful message.

Is it the best that you can do to constantly be a negative one?

I did NOT know that,

Ask me anything about the ecological habitat needs of Gammarus pulex and Gammarus roeseli .

very much so, to the point where it has become a flaw at times.

We all have our own filters through which we see the world.

Agreed, playtesters shouldn't be leaking info. But when FFG doesn't bother to even pay attention to their fan base or drop an occasional reminder that they actually are working on the game, fans get worried. Worried fans get worried, lose interest, spread fear. Those leakers then start to feel like they need to step in where FFG hasn't and dissuade the feelings of neglect. They are trying to give us hope.

As I said in another post. If FFG gave us the barest hints of information occasionally to show they are still working on the game, then the players wouldn't be so desperate for any scrap of information. The leakers wouldn't feel compelled to reassure other players.

Actually working on the game? I think we have different perspectives here - They have just recently announced their BIGGEST EXPANSION IN HISTORY and it's for Armada. It's literally the biggest thing they have EVER done and if that doesn't convince people that a game is still supported then I simply don't know what to tell you.

And another thing. Please don't try to justify leaks. I'm sorry but there simply isn't justification for it. If FFG developed fifty expansion in playtesting... and waited 3 years without even announcing any of them... that STILL wouldn't be justification for breaking an NDA that you signed and agreed to.

I'm sorry you feel that way. My attempt at positivity is genuine, and is motivated primarily by the recent influx of "Armada is dying" type posts that have been sprouting up as of late.

@Crabbok the folks who are responding negatively to you can't be satisfied. They have shown over multiple threads that they are terminally pessimistic and nothing you or I can do will change that. They're not really worth responding to in my humble opinion. Thanks for staying positive with regards to Armada, and thanks for generating fun content while we wait for announcements and new products.

Everyone is worth responding to. Some people are just really angry and I get it. Believe it or not, I get angry too. I get down in the dumps and the lack of news for Armada sometimes contributes to that. Sometimes it takes communication and community to help that. If you are able, it's better to actually talk with people rather than simply write them off.

I greatly appreciate your positivity. While you are here, I also appreciate your videos. I frequently watch them for more information regards to ships and squadrons. However, perhaps start showing a formation spread of ships when talking about list builds. Example: "This is a list, here are all the things, and this is what it looks like on the table." This way, new players who might not understand all the card info, can look at and remember the models. I know it would have helped me a little more when I picked up the game last december.

Thanks for what you do.

Ling.

I don't disagree with you, but I have seen multiple people discuss the same thing with these individuals over and over and it just ends in toxic, locked threads. They even managed to drag this one down with them.

I'm willing to discuss things with folks, but once they show no effort to understand it's not worth the time for either party.

Keep the faith Crabbok 🙂

We appreciate all you do for all of us, as well as the community at large. Don't ever change 🙂

I wish there was a separate " Armada is dead " forum where all doomsayers would converse with each other and leave this place for just dicussing the game, sharing enjoyable game moments and fantasizing about potential new expansions.

I agree but as I stated in Yutoob not always in a way that is so friendley where it seems insincere. if they are being overly negative hear 'em out and then tell them they're being a *cencored*

doesn't mean you have to not be positive. Even if we never get another Armada expansion we got the expansions we have and a LOT of community created content to endlessly mine for more. it's not all going to burst into flames one day simply because FFG says so, and they've not said so. so we can just keep playing, keep thinking up our own innovation and additions, and keep having fun.

emotions are fun, you can let them control you all dark side but you can also control them. except if you get low or high blood sugar. you can't control them then.

I never tried to justify it. Simply explain it. People that leak info do so for one or more of a couple reasons. 1. Bring attention to themselves (clearly not the case here) 2. Bring attention to some sort of wrongdoing (again, clearly not the case) 3. They want to undermine the company through sabotage (not the issue) 4. To calm and reassure people.

Since we've narrowed the issue down to #4, we can then look at the root problem. Why are people not calm and reassured? Because FFG fails to communicate with it's fanbase in the least. I'm not saying that the leaks are the fault of FFG. I'm not justifying the leakers. I'm simply stating that FFG created a situation where leaks are prone to happen. And it's a situation that could be easily avoided with regular communication and updates.

Heck, regular communication would fix the negativity in the forums too. It would give us something else to talk about.
