Hi All. Do any of you, like me, suspect that the young woman featured on the front of The Wages of Sin is none other than Asenath Waite. This would slot nicely into the covens and cultist theme of The Circle Undone. Asenath's father, Ephraim, had a 'secret name'- Kamog- just like Keziah. I think that, with this in mind, the flavour text for The Circle Undone will be taken from The Dreams In The Witch House and The Thing On The Doorstep. The Waites also had connections with Innsmouth, so i think we'll be dusting off all four of our 'Agents of...' sets from the core set. This is all just speculation, of course, but what do the rest of you out there think? Love & Lights to you all.
Who's that girl?
Well, whether it's Asenath in that illustration or not, the idea that the "The Thing on the Doorstep" could contribute significant elements to this cycle is both sound and exciting. The teaser article says, "Tangled up with all of it is a long-dead sorceress from Arkham's past" and "you have been forced to reconsider everything you thought you knew about life and death, sanity and madness."
Maybe not Thing on the Doorstep directlly, though. That's extremely squicky in a lot of uncomfortable ways. But the general outline of Sorceresses living on by possessing their descendants? Seems fitting. And let's include Charles Dexter Ward on that list, too.
Hi All. Thank you for your replies. If the Waites are to play a part in the next cycle, then Ephraim/Asenath's ability to possess others could mean some chilling shenanigans with ally assets. Love & Light.
