Norra/Kanan List

In 1.0, my favorite list I ran was Norra with a Lothal Rebel + Attack Shuttle. Sticking with the same primary ships, I think Kanan and Norra can be strong.

I have two versions of it that are mostly identical except for crew. One one hand, giving Kanan Magva helps maximize the ship's offense. But putting Jyn on the Ghost and Perceptive on Norra gives her an evade. Her ability + Kanan's ability + an evade makes her super tough for any single ship to handle her.

Here's list #1 I put together:

One thing I worry about is the geometry of the list. Veteran Turret Gunner wants the Dorsal to be pointed at your enemy, maybe even double-front. But Kanan also needs arc on Norra, and it might be hard to keep her between Kanan and the enemy. Medium Base are faster than Smalls, at least, but Large bases just clear a lot of space.

Perceptive Copilot... I'm a bit nervous. You have the force, do you really need two focus tokens? Kanan sure isn't going to be spending one on defense. I know some force is intended to be spent defending Norra, but your opponent can just shoot down the non-Reinforced Ghost. The intent is to use focus on both primary and turret attacks, but... I just wonder if it's really going to be necessary. 10 points is a lot. Meanwhile, dropping PerCo from Kanan gives a decent chunk of points.

Personally, I think Heightened Perception is something worth trying to fit in on Kanan. Not always for the first round of combat, but for the second round, Hi-P can be brutal. Your Ghost has a Range 1, with 5 dice and 3 dice attacks? Buffing that up to Init 7 at the right time can kill something off before it shoots.

Valid points. I was thinking Perceptive to keep two Force tokens available to trigger the ability. I don't think I'm as concerned about keeping Norra in Kanan's arc and still getting value out of Veteran Turret Gunner as you are, but gameplay will answer that for me.

Nevertheless, I do like the idea of Heightened Perception, especially towards the end of the Ghost's life. Could help him get a shot off before going down. I took PerCo off for Chewie and added Heightened. Also, it lets me upgrade Norra's hull upgrade to a shield upgrade.

Oh and for the first list, I just have to replace PerCo with Magva and add Heightened. So I guess the question is/ Magva/Jyn on the Ghost with PerCo on Norra? Or Magva/Chewie on the Ghost with 3PO on Norra?

A caveat to everything else I'm going to say - I don't like 2.0 ghost much, and I really don't like 2.0 Kanan. Nonetheless, I see the totally infuriating way in which this list would not be fun to kill, so here's my thoughts:

You shoot Kanan? You give him a lock. You shoot Norra? 1 less dice and 2 guaranteed evades. You shoot AP? You're leaving the guns out. AP can give Norra the action economy she needs to be a productive gun.

Interesting, and I do prefer having a third ship. I'm sacrificing a lot of good upgrades to fit in AP-5. On the Ghost, that's OK, since it can burn down easily. It's nice to think that AP-5 can move and coordinate a focus/evade to Norra before she has to pull a k-turn or hard-3. That'd be handy. All three lists have decent point/counterpoints.

Nothing, expect depending on the build, it takes a lot of time and Norra surviving is great. She's not a pilot you want to face in the end game with just one or two ships. Her ability makes it tough for you to finish her off easily and the higher-end initiative and dual arcs is not ideal.

Honestly? I don't think you were sacrificing many good upgrades for it. Force abilities are all fluff on Kanan. VetTurGun is WAY less useful when you need it pointed at Norra, while VetTailGun is AWFUL, the Hull and Shield Us are of less value than a 3rd ship, and Norra's other things are not bad, but nothing compared to what AP offers

Question about the shuttle. Do I have to have the title to dock it? Or does the title just help if I want to re-dock by extending the range to 0-1? I'm leaning towards using those extra two points I have to start docked unless I don't have to. In which case I may put Crack Shot on Norra and AP-5.

Also, I assume if the shuttle is docked, then Kanan's firing arc is his front, back and turret arcs. 75% coverage is pretty nice while it lasts.

You need the ghost title to dock a shuttle, but not the phantom title, if I recall...
