Just to turn heads and have fun at a tourney where you dont know the meta.

After some discussion on Discord, this is what I got...

Play the stations to win. 18 fighters = Somewhat same as 8 bomber command xwings...but smash the crap out of opposing squadrons, aces especially.

Like I said, this is for fun, so, I know your netlist or hyper cometetive list can beat it.

Its for fun games and just to introduce an unstable element into the tourney!

Z's dont care. Spread out, move same. 18 fighters kill him and your escort first.

18 squad bases sort of change the game.

Thats my lame-o list answer to a tier 1 squad.

Squall (if they didn't bring it you deserve to win and I'll root for you) means you probably won't kill him first, though spreading out will certainly help. As you already said, this isn't intended to go up against some competitive netlist, so I was more just chuckling at the thought of Mithel making the biggest cannonball he can. 😀

I look forward to Pursuant being the more common Quasar title! 😉

Regionals Tournament results 1 win (Sloane), 2 loss (Thrawn 2ship, Sato). I learned more than I would have with a competetive list though...and had a blast. Other players LOVED the list and were vocal about how cool it was.

So basically, if squadrons are your plan against this....you fail...period.

Took this to a regional this weekend. Went up against Sato, Thrawn 2Ship, and Sloane.

Mauler got smashed HARD. Sure he got his damage in, but Z's fall over to a mild breeze anyway....you cannot kill them fast enough with aces. He got his shot in and died quickly....and past 2 escorts. Sloane was a wasted commander that game.

Thrawn 2 Ship with MJJ did a turn 1 attack to thin the numbers and rolled in forcing the engagement. It actually caught me offguard as Turn 1 I normally like to bank some emergency tokens for movement and ET. I lightly prepared for it with the transports instead of banking and squadroned with ONLY THEM. His assault was meaningless. 2 ship lost their "advantage" in 1 turn and was fighterless in 3 (or maybe had Jendon last an addt'l turn).

Sato, his fighters were a joke.

So, the challenge comes in surviving. Station Assault was picked twice and I never lost a station. (though once I got tabled, still kept them safe)

Sato picked Superior positions and both of us got a single token.

Survive! This has to be worked on. Also, this fleet was NOT for the faint of heart, as I was playing an uphill battle against the ships themselves. Often my Pelta was busying itself with dodging an Avenger kill shot. BTW....this list will basically do its best to avoid ISD's unless thats all that comes at me.

May make some adjustments. May trade up missions to busy the opponent and keep ships safer.

How important do you find the affm? Have you found it critical for maneuvering the z's?

I've been tossing this around and picturing a couple Flotilla, a cr90 jainas light boat, and either 2 nebs, or a liberty-liberty. Those ships might help survivability, especially the light life boat.

I've got mine built with Hera, but am not sure if she would be worth more than 4 more z's or jan to lend some braces to the z's.
