You guys dont know how to use a Vic. Its in the name boys. They don’t call it a “Soul Crushing Loss Class Star Destroyer”, they call it a “Victory”
And Legion bypasses Armada in expansions...
I think you need to take a look at total commanders released vs total releases. If my count is correct, there are 3 legion commanders, vs 10-12 armada commanders, per faction. So total releases they may be ahead, but imo that’s not a fair measuring stick.

That's so true! In Legion you need to equip 1-2 commander, 3 corps units and then can fill in heavies, supports, special forces and operatives. The commander units in legion are not so much game defining as they are in Armada and you have only 3 of them released (and 1 announced). Corps are only 2 different types. Special forces brought some interesting options, but many players tend to not include (many) other types than corps units, because they are cheap and because for the activation advantage other units are too expensive...
Upgrade cards don't define a unit as much as they define the role for ships in Armada. I've got 2 commanders, 4 rebel troopers and 1 navy trooper unit, together with 1 rebel commando, 3 AT-RT and 1 snow speeder. And almost every army feels more or less the same.
If you bought 5 different ships in Armada (like: 4 CR90, 1 Nebulon, 1 MC30c, 3 AF2 and 1 Home One) you have at least 5 commanders, 10 variants and a nearly endless fleet building options. Playing legion is like:
1) Choose Dodonna, Ackbar or Ackbar and Dodonna as commander
2) Take at least 3 small ships (CR90 or Neb B) but you can only have two large ships.
3) Ships can have three upgrades, +1 hull, +3 red dice (only 1 attack each round, sorry), longer activation range.
4) No squadrons, sorry.
5) There are 5 asteroids in the box but every player can bring as much space worms, dust fields, stations or satelites, as he is willing to build and paint. Then discuss, what effect every obstacle will have in the game.
6) Mix three different objective cards together (which is actually quite cool) ...
... and have fun!
And fun it is. But you can't compare the game changing impact of an armada release of 1 new ship or squadron expansion, with the options you get with a single legion release.
