Tie Strikers and Tie Agressors need them badly.
Edited by FuzzywookieI miss lightweight frame for the Empire
Nope, they don't.
Me too, buddy; me too... but, they would make bombers and phantoms way too strong.
I'll REALLY miss them when I start flying the TIE/SF again...

Oh yes.

No.

Keep the Agressor cheap. One build that I have had with some casual success is Kestal with Barrage and Crack Shot. But even then, that is very B-class at best. On the other hand, an Elusive Duchess is pretty good. Tossing on Stealth Device is not too expensive of an option, and adds more value to that Elusive that buffed Duchess likes to pack. And as for Countdown, hull upgrade has been and always will be the best option if the points permit it.

Yeah, but the TIE/SF now has the evade action, which carries more worth than the additional die raw, especially if you have a coordinate action somewhere in your list. I'm currently (albeit in proxy) rocking a Juke Quickdraw with a Squad Leader Null offering some I7 coordinate (and so long as it is extended being played, the biohexacrypt code permits infinite range for a single coordinate). Focus + Evade has preserved her shields moreso than in first edition, but sometimes the focus is opted out in favor of the lock for FCS.
Also, there is a higher percentage of 2 die attacks as of recent, with swarms of various sorts being viable, Lambda rear-arcs, LEE7 and Cracken hoping to squeeze in some damage in addition to their coordinate stuff, etc. It would not proc as often as it did in first edition.
I mean, sure, who wouldn't want to spend 4 points for an extra agility die, that isn't a 1-charge mod like Stealth Device?
Like with Autothrusters, I was feeling like I was missing an integral modification upgrade while playing. I got so used to Lightweight Frame on Strikers, and Autothrusters on Interceptors and Starvipers, that v2 initially was a bit of a shock and I had to change how I flew those ships. But as I’ve continued to play, and now that GURI IS INITIATIVE 5, I learned to stop worrying and love the v2 changes.
Or to put it simply, I don’t think Lightweight Frame and Autothrusters are necessary in v2 (yet).
snap shot is the one I miss the most
Thematically, I kinda wish most Empire ships didn't have a mod slot.
Maybe cool for some select Aces like Soontir and Vader. But otherwise, I feel like Imps and Seps should be flying raw, efficient chassis.
Conversely, with Rebs and scum, I wish were generally less efficient but always running interesting mods.

For that reason, most of Republic should not be flying with mods, the large exception being certain Jedi. I think we are fine as the mod situation is, where mods are standard except on ships where it would be problematic (i.e., stealth device on Fenn Rau for 5 greens and faceoff at range 1, Lone Wolf stealth on a TIE Defender to guarantee that its endgame is an auto-win, etc. I have no idea why an A-wing can't have a mod tho).
The Aggressor is just a little overpriced for what it is. It should either have had agility 3, or matched the Bomber in cost (which I hope it will eventually). The Striker is pretty much perfectly costed.
Let the past die. Kill it if you have to. Or bring back Snap Shot.
I put down a 2.0 striker for the first time recently and all I can say is me to. Kind of surprised that didn’t become the chassis ability along with the ailerons.
Still, stealth device is always an option.

ugh
As was previously said, im really going to miss them on the tie SF, which on paper don't seem that great. Especially the low I generics who won't have the foreknowledge to rotate their little turret whereas in 1.0 they didn't need to.
You just need to roll 2 natural evades on most of your defence rolls. Worked a charm for me and Kestal last night. Gonna try and remember to do it more often.
